Anderson University’s Office of Graduate Enrollment invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as an Enrollment Counselor. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The University seeks a candidate with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning.
The Enrollment Counselor serves as the primary enrollment services contact for assigned graduate applicants, providing personalized support from application through the start of the first semester. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admission and Advising, this position guides prospective and admitted students through the admissions and enrollment process while providing exceptional customer service and proactive communication. Responsibilities include communicating with applicants, monitoring application materials, providing guidance on admission requirements and financial assistance, and assisting students with enrollment and registration. The position reviews completed application files and makes admission recommendations based on established guidelines, coordinating with College Deans and Graduate Program Directors when additional review is needed. The Enrollment Counselor provides admitted students with clear next steps for enrollment, onboarding, registration, Workday access, and financial aid; guides students through the transfer credit process; and registers students for their initial course schedules in coordination with Academic Success Advisors to ensure a smooth transition from Counselor to Advisor. The Enrollment Counselor maintains a strong working knowledge of assigned graduate programs, including prerequisites and enrollment requirements, while cross-training across additional programs, as needed.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Previous recruiting or sales experience is preferred with the ability to relate the college experience and the benefits of a post-secondary education to prospective students. Ability to work on multiple software systems, such as Slate and Workday are desired. Exemplary customer service, communication, and organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail are needed. The ideal candidate must be able to connect, motivate, inspire, and work with a diverse student population and demonstrate a commitment to the holistic development of students. The ability to work in a professional and confidential manner with all staff, students, parents, and the community is essential.
