Enterprise AI Solutions Architect

Description

The Enterprise Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, and Claude Cowork Architect will help the organization safely enable Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, Claude Cowork (Anthropic), Copilot agents, and related agentic AI capabilities.

This role will define the standards, design patterns, guardrails, and solution design practices needed to support secure, compliant, scalable, and policy-aligned adoption across the enterprise.

The architect will partner with enterprise architecture, security, risk, compliance, privacy, data governance, platform, engineering, workforce technology, and business teams to ensure Copilot-based and Claude-based solutions are designed responsibly and operated effectively.

This is a hands-on architecture leadership role focused on enabling business value while protecting enterprise data, enforcing governance expectations, and reducing delivery risk across a multi-vendor agentic AI landscape.

Key Deliverables

Enterprise component standards for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, and Claude Cowork.

Reference architecture for Copilot agents, Cowork-enabled workflows, Claude Cowork multi-step autonomous workflows, integrations, data access, and enterprise deployment.

Reusable design pattern catalog for common agent, workflow, knowledge-grounding, approval, escalation, and integration scenarios.

Solution design template and architecture review checklist for Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, and Claude Cowork implementations.

Guardrails for security, privacy, data governance, responsible AI, connector usage, identity and access, auditability, monitoring, and operational readiness.

Endpoint and desktop governance guidance for Claude Cowork, including device configuration, local file and application access boundaries, and managed deployment controls.

Platform selection guidance that clarifies when to use Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, or Claude Cowork for a given business scenario.

Environment, tenant, lifecycle management, deployment, and support model guidance for enterprise adoption.

Decision records and exception-handling process for solution-specific architecture, security, or governance deviations.

Executive-ready recommendations, roadmap input, and adoption guidance for scaling Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, and Claude Cowork across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Define the enterprise architecture approach for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, Claude Cowork, Copilot agents, and related agentic AI capabilities.

Create and maintain standards, design patterns, reference architectures, and guardrails for secure and governed adoption.

Lead solution design for Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, and Claude Cowork implementations, ensuring each solution has clear business purpose, approved data sources, defined ownership, security controls, and measurable outcomes.

Partner with Security, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, Data Governance, Workforce Technology, and platform administration teams to align solutions with enterprise policies and standards.

Define guidance for knowledge sources, connectors, actions, prompts, approvals, grounding, monitoring, and human oversight.

Shape environment strategy, data policies, application lifecycle management, deployment controls, usage visibility, billing controls, and operational support practices.

Define endpoint governance, access controls, and usage policies for Claude Cowork, and support proof-of-concept evaluation and transition to production where approved.

Establish architecture review criteria and reusable checklists for Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, Claude Cowork, and Copilot agent solutions.

Provide hands-on architecture guidance to delivery teams from concept through design, build, test, deployment, and production readiness.

Define integration patterns across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Microsoft Graph, Anthropic Claude, APIs, enterprise applications, workflow platforms, and knowledge repositories.

Develop patterns for observability, audit trails, task execution visibility, quality evaluation, prompt testing, incident response, and continuous improvement.

Evaluate emerging Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, Claude Cowork, Power Platform, Azure AI, Agent 365, and agentic AI capabilities for enterprise applicability.

Facilitate architecture governance discussions and approvals, promoting reuse, consistency, policy alignment, and risk-based decision making.

Communicate architecture decisions, risks, trade-offs, standards, and recommendations clearly to executive, business, architecture, engineering, and platform stakeholders.

Mentor architects, makers, and engineering teams on enterprise-ready Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, and Claude Cowork design practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Eight or more years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, platform architecture, software engineering, cloud engineering, or technology delivery.

Experience designing and governing enterprise solutions across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, cloud, SaaS, data, integration, and enterprise application environments.

Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork, Claude Cowork, Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility, Power Platform, Power Automate, Dataverse, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, Azure services, or comparable AI and automation platforms.

Experience creating architecture standards, reference architectures, design patterns, solution guardrails, and architecture review criteria.

Strong understanding of identity and access management, data loss prevention, connector governance, API security, endpoint security, logging, monitoring, billing controls, and operational readiness.

Strong understanding of responsible AI, AI governance, human oversight, content grounding, privacy, sensitive data handling, auditability, and compliance expectations.

Experience designing integrations across APIs, Microsoft 365 services, enterprise applications, workflow platforms, data platforms, and knowledge repositories.

Experience working within Agile, DevOps, SDLC, architecture governance, technology risk management, and change management practices.

Strong communication, facilitation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to explain complex architecture topics to both executive and technical audiences.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $110.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
