Job Summary: Environmental Compliance Specialist II is responsible for performing intermediate-level environmental technical work in support of assigned projects within the EHS business unit. This role includes conducting environmental studies, fieldwork, data analysis, and regulatory or technical support activities appropriate to the department’s focus. This role supports a diverse portfolio of projects across air, water, and waste programs while fostering strong client relationships and supporting the growth of service offerings. The position requires a working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations, the ability to exercise professional judgment, and the capacity to complete tasks with moderate supervision. The position is responsible for managing and executing environmental consulting projects from initiation through completion, with an emphasis on project management, client coordination, schedule control, and delivery quality. This position should have the ability to independently manage routine to moderately complex projects, support proposal development and cross sell efforts, and collaborate closely with subject matter experts, project directors, and operations staff. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 5 years of professional environmental experience and will perform a combination of office-based technical work and field activities, typically approximately 70% office and 30% field or travel, depending on project and departmental needs. Responsibilities: • Manage assigned environmental projects from kickoff through closeout, including scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables • Perform environmental fieldwork, inspections, monitoring, or sampling activities as required by assigned projects • Prepare, review, and contribute to environmental reports, technical memoranda, site specific compliance plans, or permit documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and project requirements • Support environmental compliance, permitting, assessment, or monitoring activities • Collect, compile, and analyze environmental data to support project deliverables and decision-making • Maintain accurate project documentation, field logs, and records to support audits, regulatory reviews, or internal quality control • Coordinate with project managers, technical staff, and clients to support effective project execution • Communicate with regulatory agencies or stakeholders as directed to support permitting, reporting, inspections, or project coordination • Stay informed of relevant environmental regulations, guidance, and industry best practices applicable to assigned work • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to entry-level staff as appropriate to role and project needs Pay Rate: $90,000-$115,000/annually Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field • Understanding of environmental regulations affecting complex industrial facilities such as Clean Air Act (CAA) , Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and/or Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). • 5+ years of relevant professional experience performing environmental technical work within a consulting, industry, or regulatory setting • Experience supporting environmental compliance, permitting, monitoring, assessment, or related activities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Strong technical writing, documentation, and data interpretation skills • Working knowledge of environmental regulations applicable to assigned projects • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • High attention to detail and accuracy • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet project deadlines • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and as part of a project team • Professional judgment and discretion in technical, regulatory, and client interactions Physical Demands: • Approximately 30% fieldwork and 70% office or remote work, depending on project and departmental needs • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during field assignments • Potential exposure to environmental or industrial conditions during field activities, with appropriate training and personal protective equipment provided • Ability to travel to project sites, including occasional overnight travel, as required by assigned projects Key Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(K) Plan with Competitive Match Continuing Education and Tuition Assistance Employer-Sponsored Disability Benefits Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Holidays, & Bonus Floating Holiday (if hired before July 1st) Profit Sharing or Individual Bonus Programs Referral Program Per Diem & Paid Travel Employee Discount Hub EEO Commitment : Alliance Technical Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
