Worley is growing its Environment & Approvals team in Perth and is seeking environmental professionals to support a strong pipeline of mining, renewable energy and data centre projects across Western Australia and the broader APAC region.
From major mining and critical minerals developments to renewable energy, transmission infrastructure and hyperscale data centres, you'll help clients navigate environmental approvals and regulatory requirements while working alongside multidisciplinary teams from project concept through to delivery.
Whether you're building your career in environmental approvals or already recognised as a technical leader in the field, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to some of Western Australia's most significant resource, energy transition and digital infrastructure projects.
What you'll do
Depending on your level of experience, you will:
- Support or lead environmental approvals and impact assessment projects across mining, renewables, data centres and major infrastructure developments.
- Contribute to the preparation and management of environmental approval applications, supporting studies and technical documentation.
- Assist with or develop approvals strategies for complex projects.
- Engage with clients, regulators, Traditional Owners and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineers, planners, scientists and project teams to deliver practical and sustainable project outcomes.
- Support business development activities and proposal preparation.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical excellence across the business, where appropriate.
What you'll bring
We're interested in hearing from consultants at Intermediate, Senior and Principal level who can demonstrate some or all of the following:
- Experience in environmental consulting, environmental approvals, impact assessment or environmental planning.
- Knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval pathways.
- Experience supporting or delivering approvals for mining, renewable energy, data centre, energy and/or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong report writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded
Environmental Approvals & Regulatory Frameworks
- Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA).
- WA EPA environmental impact assessment processes.
- EPBC Act referrals and approvals.
- Mining, renewable energy and major project approvals.
- Planning and Development Act 2005 (WA).
- Environmental compliance and environmental management systems.
Technical Delivery
- Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Review Documents (ERD).
- Environmental approval applications and supporting technical assessments.
- Environmental Management Plans (EMP, CEMP and OEMP).
- Approvals for mining, renewable energy, transmission and data centre developments.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engagement with WA and Commonwealth regulators.
- Traditional Owner and community consultation.
- Land access and tenure considerations.
- Client relationship and project management experience.
