About the role
National Grid is delivering one of the UK's most ambitious electricity infrastructure programmes, enabling new customer connections, supporting economic growth and connecting cleaner sources of energy to Britain's network. As part of this investment, we're delivering the Uxbridge Moor project, a major new substation development in West London that will play a critical role in supporting future electricity demand.
We're looking for experienced EPC Project Managers and an Associate (Assistant) EPC Project Manager to join our team supporting the delivery of the Uxbridge Moor project.
As an EPC Project Manager, you'll lead the safe and successful delivery of complex infrastructure packages from development through to construction and close-out, managing programme, budget, risk and stakeholder requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
We're also recruiting an Associate EPC Project Manager who will support project delivery, working closely with EPC Project Managers and developing the skills and experience needed to progress into a lead project management role.
What's the difference?
EPC Project Manager
- Leads a project or major delivery package.
- Accountable for project budgets, governance and overall delivery.
- Acts as the primary interface for key stakeholders and contractors.
Associate/Assistant EPC Project Manager
- Supports delivery under the guidance of an EPC Project Manager.
- Manages delegated areas of scope and contractor activities.
- Provides an excellent development opportunity for those looking to progress into a lead project management role.
These roles are based out of Iver, with an expectation of 3-4 days per week on site, as well as travel to other sites in the region. This can be combined with hybrid working from home on an adhoc basis.
What you'll be doing
- Leading or supporting the delivery of major electricity infrastructure projects through development, pre-construction, construction and close-out.
- Driving compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and CDM requirements.
- Managing project performance across scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk.
- Building strong relationships with contractors, stakeholders, regulators and internal teams.
- Supporting contract administration and NEC project management activities.
- Undertaking site inspections, monitoring contractor performance and resolving project issues.
- Producing project reporting, forecasts and governance documentation.
What you'll need
- Experience delivering construction, utilities, energy or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles across the full project lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements within a construction environment.
- Experience managing contractors and working within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Experience of NEC contracts is advantageous; however, candidates with experience working under other major forms of construction contract are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience within electricity transmission, utilities or other regulated industries is desirable.
- Full driving licence.
If you're excited by the opportunity to help deliver a brand-new substation project that will support the future of Britain's electricity network, we'd love to hear from you.
What's in it for you?
- Salary of £56,500 - £68,000 plus Market supplement of £4,500 per annum for the EPC PM/ £49,600 - £59,000 for the Associate EPC PM
- London Weighting Allowance of £10,970 per annum
- Annual Performance Based Bonus

- 26 days annual leave, plus eight statutory days
- The option to buy additional or sell holiday days
- Generous contributory pension scheme - we will double-match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%
