Applications Team Lead – Build Squad
Lead people. Strengthen solutions. Help shape better experiences for providers, staff, and patients.
Ready to Lead - What’s Next?
We’re looking for an experienced Epic professional who enjoys solving complex problems, developing others, and turning great ideas into reliable solutions. As an Applications Team Lead, you’ll combine hands-on application expertise with team leadership to help our Build Squad deliver high-quality operational and project work—on time, within service expectations, and with a strong focus on collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a trusted application expert and lead the analysis, design, build, testing, and support of assigned clinical, ancillary, or financial systems.
- Translate user needs, workflows, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities into secure, efficient technology solutions.
- Coordinate and oversee application work that supports providers and staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
- Monitor ticket distribution, ticket health, workload balance, project progress, and team follow-through.
- Help identify risks, blockers, resource concerns, and delays early—and partner with leaders, project managers, Functional Architects, Epic Technical Services, and operational stakeholders to keep work moving.
- Support complex issues, troubleshooting, escalations, application maintenance activities, and cross-team coordination.
- Promote clear documentation, thoughtful testing, peer review, timely stakeholder communication, and consistent quality standards.
- Coordinate coverage and out-of-office preparation to protect project continuity and customer support.
How You’ll Grow the Team
- Provide approachable, day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship for analysts, Senior Analysts, and Functional Architects.
- Facilitate regular check-ins to review priorities, remove barriers, reinforce expectations, and support professional development.
- Support onboarding and continued application development, including structured 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120-day milestones as appropriate.
- Encourage cross-training, knowledge-sharing, and multi-application growth to strengthen team flexibility and coverage.
- Model professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and psychological safety so team members feel comfortable asking questions and raising concerns.
- Provide leadership with timely updates on team progress, quality trends, coaching needs, project concerns, and improvement opportunities; contribute to performance feedback when requested.
What You’ll Bring
- Required: Current Epic certification in at least one of the following modules: Cadence, Grand Central, Prelude, Health Information Management (HIM), Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, or Claims.
- Strong experience analyzing user requirements, workflows, procedures, and system issues.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate application design and build while balancing operational support, project commitments, and service-level expectations.
- Excellent customer service, communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- A supportive, solutions-focused leadership style and a genuine interest in helping others grow.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, communicate concerns appropriately, and escalate operational or employee-related matters to leadership when needed.
What Success Looks Like
- Work is distributed thoughtfully, progresses visibly, and is completed with quality and accountability.
- Risks are surfaced early, stakeholders receive clear updates, and decisions and next steps are followed through.
- Analysts receive consistent coaching, actionable feedback, and meaningful development opportunities.
- Strong build, testing, documentation, peer review, and ticket-management practices reduce rework and improve consistency.
- The team continues to improve its workflows, handoffs, efficiency, customer service, and cross-application capability.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to stay close to the work while making a broader impact. You’ll help guide talented team members, improve how work gets done, and build technology that supports the people delivering care every day. If you’re energized by teamwork, continuous improvement, and helping others succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
