Epic Systems Analyst – Hospital Billing, Claims & Reimbursement Contract Administration

We are seeking an Epic Systems Analyst to support and optimize key revenue cycle applications and workflows. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert for Epic Hospital Billing, claims management, and reimbursement-related processes, helping ensure accurate billing, efficient claims adjudication, contract compliance, and optimal reimbursement outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Epic analyst who enjoys combining application support, workflow optimization, revenue cycle operations, reimbursement analysis, and project leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partner with Revenue Cycle, Patient Financial Services, Managed Care, and operational leadership teams to design and optimize Epic workflows.
• Support Epic Hospital Billing (HB) application build, testing, implementation, and ongoing optimization.
• Analyze and improve billing, claims management, reimbursement, and denial management workflows.
• Collaborate with reimbursement and contract administration teams to support contract configuration, reimbursement validation, and payment accuracy initiatives.
• Evaluate reimbursement trends and identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Participate in system upgrades, optimization efforts, and strategic revenue cycle projects.
• Gather requirements and translate business needs into Epic system enhancements and configuration changes.
• Develop and execute testing plans for new builds, upgrades, interfaces, and workflow improvements.
• Support application incidents, service requests, and root-cause analysis activities while meeting established service-level agreements.
• Work with reporting and analytics teams to develop operational, reimbursement, and claims-related reporting solutions.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to documentation, standards, and process improvement initiatives.

Preferred Technical Experience

• Epic Resolute Hospital Billing (HB)
• Claims management and billing workflows
• Revenue cycle optimization
• Epic build and configuration
• Work queues, charge review, claim edits, and reimbursement processes
• Reporting tools such as Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, Clarity, and Caboodle
• HL7 and healthcare system integrations
• SDLC, change management, and ITIL methodologies
• Workflow analysis and business process improvement

Ideal Background

• 5+ years of healthcare IT systems analysis experience
• Experience supporting Epic Hospital Billing and Revenue Cycle operations
• Strong understanding of payer reimbursement methodologies and managed care contract workflows
• Experience supporting claims processing, payment reconciliation, contract compliance, and reimbursement optimization efforts
• Strong requirements gathering, workflow design, testing, and troubleshooting skills
• Proven ability to collaborate with business, financial, and technical stakeholders
• Epic certification or proficiency in Hospital Billing (HB) or other Revenue Cycle applications strongly preferred
• Experience working with reimbursement, managed care, contract administration, or revenue integrity teams is a significant plus

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
