Position Overview

TOur client is seeking an experienced Epic Willow Ambulatory and Willow Inventory Analyst to support its ongoing Epic implementation project leading up to a March/April 2027 go-live. This individual will serve as a key member of the pharmacy applications team, responsible for application build, workflow design, testing, optimization, and implementation support across both Willow Ambulatory and Willow Inventory.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Epic pharmacy experience, strong build capabilities, and a proven track record supporting large-scale Epic implementations. This role requires a highly dependable consultant who is dedicated to the project, communicates proactively with stakeholders, and consistently provides timely updates and status reporting.

A PharmD is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, and support Epic Willow Ambulatory and Willow Inventory applications.
• Participate in implementation activities leading up to the March/April 2027 go-live.
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, clinical stakeholders, and operational teams to gather requirements and develop Epic solutions.
• Configure and maintain medication records, dispensing workflows, inventory management processes, and pharmacy-related system components.
• Analyze current-state and future-state pharmacy workflows and recommend Epic best practices.
• Support integrated testing, workflow validation, user acceptance testing, and go-live readiness activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolution of build and workflow concerns.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, build specifications, and testing materials.
• Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates regarding project progress, risks, and milestones.
• Deliver weekly status reports outlining accomplishments, upcoming activities, risks, and blockers.
• Support optimization efforts and post-build enhancements throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Work collaboratively with other Epic application teams to ensure successful integration across workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification required.
• Epic Willow Inventory Certification required.
• 5+ years of Epic pharmacy application experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Epic implementation projects.
• Strong hands-on build and configuration experience within Willow Ambulatory and Willow Inventory.
• Experience with pharmacy workflow design, implementation, testing, and optimization.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into Epic system design and build.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) preferred.
• Experience supporting academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, or large health systems.
• Previous full lifecycle Epic implementation experience.
• Knowledge of ambulatory pharmacy operations and inventory management best practices.
• Experience supporting pharmacy automation, medication management, and dispensing workflows.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal consultant is a Sr-level Epic Willow Ambulatory and Willow Inventory analyst with strong implementation experience and a commitment to customer service. This individual must be highly reliable, responsive, and capable of providing consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. UMMC is seeking a dedicated resource who can focus fully on the engagement, provide weekly status reporting, proactively identify risks, and serve as a trusted partner through go-live and beyond. Candidates supporting multiple concurrent Epic consulting engagements will not be considered.

This is a Contract position based out of Jackson, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
