Our Newest Opportunity: Summary: The Equity Analyst is responsible for conducting rigorous bottom-up fundamental research on publicly traded companies and developing differentiated investment insights in support of OneDigital Asset Management’s equity portfolios. The Analyst will partner closely with Portfolio Managers to identify new investment opportunities, maintain coverage of existing holdings and companies under review, and contribute thoughtful buy, hold, and sell recommendations grounded in fundamental analysis, valuation discipline, and sound business judgment. The Equity Analyst will combine strong analytical capability with intellectual curiosity, a passion for long-term investing, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and succinctly. The Analyst will contribute across the firm’s alpha-generating and income-oriented portfolios, applying a disciplined research process to assess business quality, competitive positioning, management execution, valuation, and risk/reward. The Equity Analyst will also be expected to use modern research tools effectively—including financial databases, DCF modeling, and AI-enabled research workflows—to improve efficiency, deepen insight generation, and support a high-quality, repeatable investment process, while maintaining independent judgment and appropriate verification standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Fundamental Research and Analysis : Conduct in-depth fundamental research on public companies, including analysis of business models, financial statements, industry structure, competitive positioning, management quality, and long-term shareholder value creation. Build and maintain detailed financial models, forecasts, and valuation frameworks to assess intrinsic value and risk/reward under a range of scenarios. Develop clear, well-supported investment theses and identify the key drivers, catalysts, assumptions, and risks underlying each recommendation. Generate new investment ideas through independent research, screening, industry work, and synthesis of public and proprietary information. Evaluate relative opportunities across assigned sectors and market capitalizations, consistent with portfolio objectives and investment philosophy. Portfolio Support and Investment Recommendations : Provide timely, actionable buy, hold, and sell recommendations to Portfolio Managers, supported by rigorous analysis and clear articulation of conviction level, upside/downside, and key thesis milestones. Monitor existing portfolio holdings and companies under active review, updating investment views as new information emerges. Support portfolio decision-making by assessing position-level implications of earnings releases, company-specific developments, industry shifts, and macroeconomic factors relevant to covered names. Contribute to portfolio discussions with a focus on alpha generation, downside risk, and risk-adjusted return potential. Research Diligence, Market Monitoring & External Engagement : Maintain current knowledge of developments affecting covered companies, relevant industries, competitors, and broader market conditions. Conduct ongoing due diligence through earnings calls, regulatory filings, industry publications, channel checks, expert conversations, and other primary and secondary research sources, as appropriate. Develop and maintain productive research relationships with company management teams, investor relations professionals, and industry contacts. Prepare concise written materials and verbal presentations summarizing research findings, investment theses, and portfolio implications for internal discussion. Technology, Data & Research Process Enhancement : Use Excel and relevant investment research platforms effectively to support modeling, valuation, screening, monitoring, and investment documentation. Incorporate AI-enabled tools and workflows into the research process to enhance efficiency in information synthesis, document review, workflow automation, and idea development, while applying sound judgment and source validation. Contribute to the continuous improvement of research templates, monitoring processes, and analytical workflows that strengthen the team’s overall investment process. Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: Demonstrated passion for long-term investing and bottom-up fundamental research. Strong financial statement analysis, DCF valuation knowledge , and financial modeling skills. Ability to assess business quality, competitive advantage, management execution, capital allocation, and long-term value creation. Sound business judgment and the ability to form independent, evidence-based investment views. Intellectual curiosity, skepticism, initiative, and a desire to generate differentiated insights rather than rely on consensus views. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex analysis into clear, decision-useful conclusions. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-accountability, team-oriented investment environment. High attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic market environment. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with common investment research tools and data platforms; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar systems is preferred. Practical ability and willingness to use AI tools productively within the investment research workflow; experience with LLM-based research, prompt design, or workflow automation is a plus, but not a substitute for fundamental judgment. Education, Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. Two to Five years of relevant experience in buy-side or sell-side equity research, investment management, or a comparable analytically rigorous role. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining financial models and valuation analys i s. Experience covering or analyzing public companies and translating research into investment recommendations. Advanced degree or CFA designation is a plus. The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $100,000 to $120,000 per year . Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
