Job Description Summary Job Description Erection & Commissioning Supervisor - Power Transformers Do you want to drive the future of energy by leading the installation and commissioning of the world’s most advanced power transformer technology? GE Vernova is looking for an exceptional Erection & Commissioning Supervisor to join our Construction & Commissioning team based in Stafford, UK. GE Vernova - The Energy to Change the World With over 130 years of experience and proven innovation, GE Vernova is leading a new era of energy. We are electrifying the world while working to decarbonize it. Our name reflects our mission. “GE” carries a legacy of quality and ingenuity. “Ver” signals Earth’s lush ecosystems, while “Nova” nods to a new era of lower-carbon energy we are helping to deliver. Focused on the future, GE Vernova is accelerating the shift to reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. We help customers power economies and deliver electricity vital to health, safety, and quality of life. Electrification Our Electrification solutions modernize grids, enable renewable integration, and strengthen energy systems. From software to power conversion and storage, we help create smarter, more resilient energy networks. Role Overview The Erection & Commissioning Supervisor will act as the vital technical link between our factory, site operators, and customers to ensure seamless power transformer installation. You will serve as the primary on-site authority, providing hands-on technical guidance, resolving complex challenges, and ensuring that every project is delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Your Impact Leading the technical installation and commissioning of power transformers, ensuring all site activities align with global engineering and safety standards. Resolving complex technical challenges on-site through independent judgment and proactive troubleshooting, minimizing downtime and project delays. Creating essential site documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and technical reports to maintain full project compliance. Collaborating with project managers, engineering teams, and customers to coordinate site activities and ensure total project success. Developing the capabilities of regional site teams by providing technical training and mentoring to ensure industry-leading performance. Special Role Requirements Able to travel extensively (approximately 60%) to and from projects and various field assignments. Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments. Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments. What Success Looks Like in This Role You should be a hands-on, solution-oriented electrical specialist with a passion for high-impact infrastructure projects. The ability to work independently on-site, making critical technical decisions and managing multiple stakeholder expectations under pressure. The capability to interpret complex electrical schematics and apply them to the hands-on installation and commissioning of large-scale power transformers. An understanding of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, with a proven track record of enforcing compliance in demanding industrial environments. An expertise in power transformer technology, including testing, troubleshooting, and field-based engineering processes. A keen interest in sharing knowledge and elevating team standards through mentorship and technical coordination. A formal education in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification) is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements. Where and how you'll work This is a permanent, site-based position. While you will be performing your duties at project sites for approximately 60% of your time, you will benefit from a hybrid working model for office and home-based tasks when not on assignment. Our Culture Every action shapes our future. That’s why our north star is a culture of impact, where everyone is empowered to thrive and achieve. Addressing the urgent need to build a more sustainable electric power system while improving the trajectory of climate change emissions are global priorities, and we take our responsibility seriously. That is our mission at GE Vernova: continuing to electrify to thrive and decarbonize the world We play a significant role in leading a new era of energy. Our technology helps generate approximately twenty-five percent of the world’s electricity today, and we are working to power the rest. If we want the future of energy to be different, then join us and be the difference. Together, we are the Energy of Change! We're determined to be the best place to grow We believe that strong careers are built on a variety of experiences, strong connections, and continuous development. We’re committed to providing you the tools to navigate and shape a strong career journey that aligns with a healthy work-life balance.
