About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled ERP Developer to join our client’s dynamic team in the UK, based in Devon with a hybrid working model. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, integration, and continuous improvement of critical ERP systems that support core business operations. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including functional consultants, project managers, and end-users, to deliver innovative technical solutions that enhance efficiency and streamline processes.

The ideal candidate will have a background in ERP systems such as Epicor, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or IFS, coupled with strong development skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, including system customization, integration with third-party applications, and performance optimization, ensuring the ERP infrastructure evolves to meet business needs effectively.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a solid foundation in ERP development within commercial environments, with experience in database management, system integrations, and business process support. A minimum of three years' experience in ERP-related roles is preferred. Candidates should have proficiency in technologies such as SQL, C# / .NET, APIs, REST/SOAP web services, JavaScript, XML/JSON, SSRS, Power BI, and ERP SDKs or development frameworks. The ability to quickly learn new ERP platforms and adapt to different technical environments is essential.

While specific experience with a particular ERP system is not mandatory, a strong understanding of ERP fundamentals and the capacity to develop tailored solutions is critical. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or finance ERP environments will be advantageous, providing insight into the operational context of the systems being developed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and enhance ERP applications to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Design and implement integrations between ERP systems and third-party applications, utilizing APIs, web services, and data exchange protocols.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and business-specific functionalities to support decision-making processes.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within the ERP environment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Assist in ERP upgrades, implementations, and ongoing improvement initiatives to optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, project managers, and end-users to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Conduct testing, documentation, and deployment of new developments, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, performance enhancement, and manual process reduction.

Benefits

Joining our client’s team offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that go beyond routine support, providing exposure to development, integration, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role provides a platform to influence the future direction of the ERP platform, working in an environment that values innovation and technical excellence. Employees benefit from a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and flexible working arrangements designed to support work-life balance. The company fosters a collaborative culture that encourages professional growth, learning, and the sharing of ideas within a supportive team environment.
