The ERP Functional Analyst serves as the primary business-facing resource responsible for optimizing and supporting enterprise resource planning (ERP) processes across the Academic and Research Institutes. This role combines expertise in accounting, finance, grants management, and business operations with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure ERP solutions effectively support organizational objectives.
Working closely with the ERP Technical Analyst, the ERP Functional Analyst serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating operational and financial requirements into effective system solutions. The position partners with Finance, Accounting, Research Administration, Sponsored Programs, Procurement, and Institute leadership to improve business processes, enhance reporting capabilities, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accurate and reliable data across ERP platforms.
Ideal applicants will have prior work experience and a strong understanding in accounting and finance.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business or related field

EXPERIENCE
  • Five years' experience in ERP business system analysis, requirement gathering and documentation

  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security

  • Strong project management skills and knowledge of project management tools
  • Expert ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to effectively present ideas to executive management via discussions and presentations
  • Ability to resolve conflict and manage customer expectations
  • Ability to understand customer needs and requirements and build projects plans that meet expectations using originality and creativiely

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Takes a lead role in system implementations. Utilizes leadership and project management skills to gather support from stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Provides feedback in interviewing process for potential team members.
  • Provides training and mentoring for team members through formal and informal methods on new functionalities.
  • Takes a lead role in triaging incidents and ensures issues are resolved by appropriate team members.

SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Utilizes strong communication skills through active collaboration with the customers, proactive updates and alerts customers to potential issues.
  • Partners with customers and team members to translate complex business requirements into viable solutions, identifying potential benefits, and re-engineering workflow processes to achieve anticipated benefits.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships, and effectively manages client expectations. Defines service level agreements (SLAs).

QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Partners with the Project Management Office to support all phases of project implementation and ensure success.
  • Develops and validates ERP solutions leveraging expert knowledge and best practices. Considers business implications on related systems and subsystems. Leads monitoring of SLAs with key customers.
  • Develops detailed system test plans, executes system test cases and provides issue tracking and consolidation. Manages a coordinated User Acceptance Test (UAT) effort.

FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Makes recommendations on cost and resource allocation on assigned projects, delegation and evaluation of work effort.
  • Contributes to budget planning process through discovery and analysis of future projects.

  • Supports an environment that encourages innovation, continuous improvement and growth. Identifies opportunities for innovation and process improvement and seeks out opportunities for implementation.
