You will make sure the buyer isn't acquiring a cleanup bill. Many VDS industries, including chemicals, mining, oil & gas, and heavy manufacturing, carry real site and permit risk.

You will make sure the buyer isn't acquiring a cleanup bill. Many VDS industries, including chemicals, mining, oil & gas, and heavy manufacturing, carry real site and permit risk.
What you'll do
- Scope and review Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments with qualified environmental firms.
- Assess site contamination, legacy liabilities, and ecological risks.
- Check compliance with air, water, waste, and hazardous materials permits (EPA, OSHA, and state rules).
- Review EHS programs, safety records, incident history, and open enforcement actions.
- Evaluate ESG and sustainability exposure, including emissions reporting and investor expectations.
- Estimate remediation and compliance costs and recommend indemnities or price adjustments.
- After close, lead EHS integration and a safety and sustainability improvement plan.
- 7+ years in environmental consulting, EHS leadership, or transaction environmental review.
- Degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field; PE or CHMM a plus.
- Hands-on familiarity with ASTM E1527 Phase I standards and regulatory permitting.
- Experience in specialty chemicals, oil & gas, mining, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
