Events Lead.

Salary: £53,333 per annum. (this includes Inner London Allowance of £3,333).

Location: Farringdon, London with Hybrid working.

Contract: Permanent, Full-time - 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead Action for Children’s high-value events portfolio. As Events Lead, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of events that inspire supporters, raise vital unrestricted income and deepen engagement.

Leading a talented team of event fundraisers, you will drive the development and delivery of an ambitious events strategy, ensuring our flagship events continue to grow while identifying innovative opportunities to reach new audiences and generate more impact. From strengthening supporter journeys and stewardship experiences, to working with influential committee members and senior stakeholders, you’ll play an important role in growing income and supporter engagement.

There will be an expectation to travel per the requirements of this role to manage events across the UK portfolio.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

  • Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing Events team.

  • Lead the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of a high value Events portfolio.

  • Provide fundraising leadership and expertise, empowering the team to deliver outstanding events and support experiences.

  • Act as the organisation’s subject matter expert in high value fundraising events.

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior committee members, donors and supporters.

  • Improve Action for Children’s stewardship events portfolio.

  • Identify opportunities to grow income and supporter engagement through innovation.

  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders to develop and maximise the high value fundraising pipeline.

  • Manage team income and expenditure, ensuring agreed KPI and ROI targets are achieved across all events.

  • Ensure all event activity and communications comply with fundraising regulations, legislation and organisational standards.

Let's talk about you 

  • Proven experience of developing a positive team culture and effectively leading a high-performing fundraising events team.

  • Substantial experience of high-value event fundraising, with a demonstrable track record of developing six-figure plus fundraising events.

  • Experience of developing and delivering fundraising, stewardship and engagement strategies.

  • Experience of building and managing relationships with high value supporters and committee members.

  • Demonstrable communication, influencing and relationship management skills.

  • Demonstrable strategic thinking and commercial awareness.

  • Established financial and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrable understanding of fundraising regulations, data protection legislation and sector best practice.

  • Excellent organisational, planning and project management skills.

  • Demonstrable experience of applying equity, diversity and inclusion principles.
