Fairness feels good Make a real impact at AFCA. Where fairness drives every decision. Help us deliver world-class, independent complaints resolution for Australians. As a not-for-profit and progressive financial ombudsman, we’re championing positive change. Achieving our purpose takes progressive thinking, accountability and resilience. At AFCA, our inclusive leadership values every voice. We offer our people flexible work options, thoughtful benefits and opportunities to deepen expertise. Flourish in a diverse, caring culture. Feel the difference of belonging to an organisation intentionally designed to put people first. We have a newly created opportunity to join AFCA as the Executive Assistant to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) . This is not your typical EA role, you'll be a trusted adviser, proactive operator, and the person who keeps a busy executive, leadership team, and technology function running at their best. If you're energised by pace, thrive in complexity, and pride yourself on always being three steps ahead, we'd love to hear from you. As the right-hand person to our CTO, you'll play a critical role in ensuring priorities stay on track and opportunities don't get missed. You'll be the hub connecting leaders, teams, and stakeholders across the business. What you'll do: Manage executive diary, ensuring maximum impact and effectiveness. Coordinate leadership rhythms including 1:1s, leadership meetings, town halls, business updates and team forums. Prepare presentations, reports, communications, and briefing materials. Organise leadership meetings end-to-end, including agendas, actions and follow-up. Preparing professional executive communications, presentations and reports that support engagement, alignment and decision-making across the organisation. Identifying opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows and enhance collaboration through tools such as Microsoft 365, Jira and Confluence. Act as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Support recruitment, onboarding and offboarding activities across the technology function. Manage travel arrangements, expenses, invoices, purchase orders and budget administration. Drive engagement initiatives, celebrations, team events and recognition activities. Anticipate challenges before they arise and proactively solve problems. Collaborate closely with AFCA's Executive Assistant community and support broader executive priorities as needed. We're looking for someone who combines strong executive support experience with pace, sound judgement and a genuine partnership mindset. You'll bring: Experience supporting senior executives, ideally within Technology, Digital, Cyber, Data, Transformation or similarly complex environments. Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across all organisational levels. Advanced Microsoft 365 skills and experience using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence. Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality executive documentation and presentations. Outstanding planning, prioritisation and multitasking capabilities. Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information. The ability to work independently, anticipate needs and proactively solve problems. Resilience, adaptability and a positive, solutions-focused mindset in a changing environment. Gold AWEI Accreditation 2025 – Recognised for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion. Accredited Family Friendly Workplace – Supporting work-life balance and inclusivity. Hybrid working – Flexible arrangements with two days a week in our modern offices designed for collaboration and wellbeing. Additional and inclusive leave options – Flexible public holidays, gender affirmation leave, women’s health leave, and bonus paid time off over the end of year holiday period. To apply If you’re passionate about fairness and believe your skills align with this role, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every single criterion. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. If you require any accessibility support during the recruitment process, please reach out to our team at [email protected]. We believe fairness starts with people. That’s why we don’t use AI or automated tools to screen candidates. As a result, our processes may take a little longer, and we thank you for your patience.
