Job Purpose: This job contributes to the success of the organization by supporting the continual expansion of sales opportunities and patient access within Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payors and related Market Access customers including GPO’s and Large Practice Networks. Also responsible for managing our patient services programs and Field Reimbursement Team to drive patient access to our products and leverage state laws (where applicable) that prevent payors from implementing step edits on a product that are not in the best interest of the patient. Executive Director/Vice-President is accountable for attaining sales goals and market access objectives consistent with the Market Access annual operating budgets and strategies. Responsibilities: National Sales Objectives Meet or exceed all national sales and market access objectives to include revenue and profitability objectives Partners with commercial, finance, legal and compliance in the implementation of market access strategies Lead Payor National Account Team to maintain and enhance access and reimbursement for product portfolio and expand key contacts in the marketplace Manage and expand formulary coverage and reimbursement of national managed care organizations, insurers, and Integrated Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM) accounts (if applicable) Work with sales team to pull-through payor coverage and reimbursement and address payer reimbursement challenges Lead Patient Services team which includes one director and ten field reimbursement managers (FRMs) Patient Access Objectives Collaborate with Director, Patient Services to identify program vendors and maximize their functional and reporting capabilities to maximize patient access to our products Develop customer engagement strategies for Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) Team by utilizing patient services offering (hub, co-pay assistance, free goods, product replacement, etc), Letter of Medical Necessity, and Step Therapy Exception Request Form (where applicable) Interact with matrix cross-functional partners to coordinate activities to maximize the use of our resources with customers Continually evolve the Letter of Medical Necessity as new clinical evidence emerges Leverage Safe Step Act legislation by state and State Exception Request Form (if available) to secure patient access without the patient having to try and fail another product Work closely with SVP, Market Access to develop and implement relevant payer strategies Collaborate with Government Pricing department to understand implications of contracting strategies and service agreements, if applicable Implement pricing and/or performance payor contracts, if appropriate. Monitor and maintain a high level of awareness of public and private formularies, insurance and pricing regulations, employer groups, and unions, as well as 3rd party reimbursement programs to enhance market position Develop and maintain a high level of rapport and integrity within applicable sectors, resulting in mutually beneficial long-term business opportunities Other duties as assigned Lead National Accounts and Patient Services Teams Manage the recruitment, evaluation and selection of the National Account Directors – Patient Access and Reimbursement, Field Reimbursement Managers, Director, Patient Services, and National Directors – Payor Accounts. Ensure compliance with Company EEO policy and Home Office HR processes and procedures Accomplish National Accounts and Field Reimbursement manager human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching and counselling direct reports; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions, enforcing policies and procedures Manage, motivate, and develop direct reports Establish and maintain effective communications with team members, sales team and all field matrix team personnel Observe, in person, the performance of National Account Managers, Field Reimbursement Managers and Sales Representatives in the field on a regular basis Policies, Procedures & Compliance Stay current and in compliance both individually and as a commercial organization. This includes all Corporate Policies as well as mandated government Regulations Stay current with and adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook Stay current and within compliance of all Expense Policies Strictly adhere to administrative requirements as directed by SVP, Market Access Other duties as assigned Education & Professional Background: BS/BA degree required; MBA preferred Minimum 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience Minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical Market Access experience Current relationships with key payer stakeholders and decision makers Buy-and-bill experience required; Buy-and-bill AND HEM/ONC experience preferred Experience in expanding Market Access organizations preferred Experience in pharmaceutical functions outside of Market Access (Marketing, Sales Training, Operations, National Accounts) is preferred Demonstrated ability to develop and expand relationships with key customers and key stakeholders Strong analytical and business acumen Strong knowledge of the evolving changes within the pharmaceutical industry with emphasis on payer landscape Product launch experience required Documented track record of ability to recruit, retain and develop highest quality staff Ability to meet requirement for up to 50% overnight travel to cover the nation Payor contracting experience preferred including experience with evaluating contracting opportunities from a profitability perspective Competencies: Customer-oriented (Sales): Respond to consumer needs and wants through planned, personalized communication in order to influence purchase decisions and ensure satisfaction Leadership : Operate with high integrity in all matters with a proven ability to motivate teams and individuals; ability to build consensus and lead cross-functionally; embrace teamwork toward a common goal but respect individual job responsibilities and goals Negotiation: Confer with others to reach resolution; explore alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain support and acceptance of all parties Drive: Produce consistent, high quality and quantity outputs and meaningful results that contribute to the company mission and strategic goal on time Problem Solving: Determine what is wrong in complex situations by identifying root causes and working with others to permanently fix problems with win/win solutions Collaboration : Work toward common goals by supporting, encouraging, and sharing information with both internal and external colleagues Communication : Speak, write, listen and present information in a logical and professional manner as required for the appropriate target audience; develop and deliver presentations and lead meetings Attitude and Demeanor: Proud Pharmacosmos ambassador Strong personal leadership Inspire cross-functional transparency and collaboration Customer-centric ‘can-do’ attitude and goal focused Ambitious, independent, analytical, collaborative, loyal, organised Flexibility Our roles can evolve over time.
