Executive & Events Assistant Intern
Location: Remote / Hybrid (MD/DC Region preferred; NYC Area considered)
Duration: 3 Months
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours/week
Weekly Cadence: Mandatory weekly 1-on-1 sync (virtual or in-person)

Role Overview
At Houstory, we are on a mission to eliminate "The Zero Data Decision" across the rental market by bringing transparency, empowerment, and data-backed clarity to housing.
As an Executive & Events Assistant Intern, you will work directly with our leadership team to support executive operations, high-level administrative workflows, and event coordination. This hands-on role spans strategic calendar management, internal operations, and the planning of community activations, pop-ups, and grassroots events across our key DMV and NYC focus regions.
Weekly Cadence & Mentorship Structure
Weekly 1-on-1 Call : You will participate in a weekly 1-on-1 meeting with the Founder & President to review deliverables, align on weekly priorities, and receive structured feedback.
Feedback Loops: Continuous touchpoints and co-stewardship throughout the week ensure you receive ongoing support and mentorship to meet your professional growth goals.
Educational Learning Objectives
Through structured weekly feedback loops, strategic co-stewardship, and practical execution, you will develop actionable skill sets in:
Executive Office Operations: Mastering high-level calendar management, executive correspondence, meeting preparation, and decision-tracking workflows.
Event Logistics & Grassroots Production: Gaining hands-on experience in planning, executing, and evaluating community activation events, workshops, run-of-show timelines, and local meetups.
Cross-Functional Project Support: Developing core organizational and project management competencies within a fast-paced, mission-driven social impact venture.
Key Responsibilities & Expected Projects
1. Executive Support & Administrative Operations
Maintain executive calendars, schedule internal and external stakeholder meetings, and ensure leadership preparedness for daily priorities.
Prepare clear meeting agendas, take detailed operational notes, and track follow-up action items across project teams.
Organize digital files, maintain contact databases, enter tracking data, and assist in managing primary company communications via email and phone.
2. Event Planning & Logistics Coordination
Help organize community gatherings, university activations, rental literacy pop-ups, and corporate functions across the DMV and NYC regions.
Assist with venue research, manage event RSVPs, prepare attendee lists, print name tags, assemble media/event kits, and draft day-of run-of-show timelines.
Coordinate vendor outreach, track event supply inventory, and assist with on-site equipment setup, guest greeting, and post-event breakdown.
3. Special Projects & Operational Workflow Support
Conduct research to support upcoming events, speaking engagements, and founder appearances.
Assist in reviewing, updating, and maintaining operational guides to support consistent execution standards across all company events and team workflows.
Qualifications & Eligibility
Weekly Commitment: Ability to commit 10–15 hours per week.
Mandatory Sync: Availability to attend a weekly 1-on-1 meeting (virtual or in-person) with executive leadership.
Location: Based in or deeply familiar with the DMV region (DC/Maryland/Virginia) or the NYC metro area.
Education: Current enrollment or completion of a degree in hospitality, event management, marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
