About the Executive IC, Design role 🔍 You can probably remember the last thing you designed yourself, before the calendar filled up with reviews and critiques. Leading a team used to be how a great designer multiplied their taste across an org, and for a long time it was the only way. It isn't anymore. The tooling has caught up to the point where one person's hands can cover product, brand, web, and social at a level that used to take a department. We're looking for a design leader who misses making the work and wants to impact how Motion looks and feels by producing it, not approving it. Jean-Michel Lemieux , the former CTO of Shopify, just joined a Series B startup as an Executive IC . His title inspired ours, and transitions like his are our reference point. Using AI tooling to produce what once required a team, then refining and elevating it through your own craft and judgment. Setting the craft bar by example, so the quality of the entire team's work rises with it.
