About Paperbox

Paperbox builds AI agents for claims and policy administration, serving insurers, banks, brokers and expertise firms across Europe. Their agents tackle the biggest bottleneck in insurance operations: the mailroom. 100+ customers and growing fast, they are working towards a future where nobody is put on hold.

This is what Paperbox values

They work hard to create a company culture where each individual can thrive in a healthy way and where they truly excel as a team. They keep the following values close to heart:

  • Stronger together: They deeply care about our customers, users and employees, and believe you can best take care of others if you focus on taking care of yourself too.

  • Distributed ownership: Taking up responsibilities is encouraged. They share and create opportunities for each other to grow.

  • Build to scale: Everything they do needs to be scalable. This mindset helps us create the impact needed to drive us forward.

  • Quality, then speed: We work intentionally towards a bigger picture that requires us to think before we act. Building a foundation for future success is setting yourself up to win.

Role

You'll join the Forward Deployment Engineering (FDE) Team as the person who takes the AI agents from "signed contract" to "live in production at a real insurer's mailroom" - and keeps them running well after that. You'll own a portfolio of 6–10+ enterprise accounts at different stages, combining deep technical work with real customer contact.

What you'll actually do:

  • Lead onboardings from kickoff to go-live; configure and tune our agents for each customer's workflows, document types, and process flows.

  • Build Python integrations with customer back-office systems - REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, custom legacy stacks

  • Tune prompts, evaluate LLM output, and design agent flows for new use cases

  • Lead architecture and security conversations with customer IT teams - SAML/SSO/mTLS, data flows, privacy controls

  • Translate what you see in the field into concrete input for Engineering and Product - your portfolio is our product radar

Who you will work with

You'll be part of a tight FDE team that shares accounts, reviews each other's work, and learns in the open. Onboarding is structured: you'll ramp on real accounts with a clear owner alongside you, not get handed ten enterprise customers on day one. If you're earlier in your career, you'll have the support to grow into full ownership; if you're senior, you'll have the room to shape how we deliver.

We all love you, but…

You must understand and speak Dutch to help customers in Belgium and the Netherlands. To be easily available for them, you should also be based in Europe.

Paperbox is open to medior and senior profiles. What matters most is that you can do the work and want to do it well. Also, don't hesitate to apply if you don't fulfil 100% of the requirements. Superheroes don't exist. People with passion and talent do!

People skills

  • You communicate smoothly, taking your audience into account. You have the talent to explain technical stuff clearly.

  • You genuinely enjoy customer work: kickoffs, working sessions, and conversations with customer IT teams.

  • A self-directed operator - comfortable holding 6–10+ accounts in your head and planning your own delivery.

Technical skills

  • Fluent in Dutch: your customer portfolio is mainly Dutch-speaking. English is a given.

  • Strong Python; you can ship production code independently.

  • Comfortable with LLMs and modern agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent), prompt engineering, evaluation, tuning.

  • Experience setting up integrations: APIs, webhooks, platforms like Make or Zapier.

Bonus points

  • Experience as an FDE is a clear plus.

  • Software-As-A-Service experience

  • Affinity with the domain is always relevant.

What will you be offered?

At Paperbox, they strongly believe in a diverse and healthy work environment. That’s why they provide perks and benefits that help you thrive as a person.

  • A flexible office culture, combining our amazing office space at Wintercircus with the freedom to work where you perform best

  • Competitive salary

  • All the tools you need for success

  • Flexible vacation policy

  • Transparent and digital healthcare insurance by Alan for you and your family

  • Learning & Training opportunities with a flexible training policy

  • A fun and supportive team culture with regular team activities, events and moments to connect

(Paperbox is open to both payroll and subcontractors. Benefits will slightly differ, however.)

If this sounds like you, please don't hesitate and hit the 'Apply' button!

The process

If you pass the CV screening, you will have a first video interview with a non-technical recruiter from madewithlove. The selected candidates will receive a technical challenge. Candidates who survive these two rounds will be forwarded to Paperbox, where they will face two more interview rounds, including a role-play exercise.

Good luck!
