Experiment Planner – CONTINGENT - 26-036 – Hybrid As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an Experiment Planner to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members in San Diego. Serve as an Experiment Planner supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Experimentation Cell (DON SEC). Provide planning, facilitation and advisory support to small businesses with DON SBIR contracts, their Government Technical Points of Contact (TPOCs) and Program Managers throughout the experimentation lifecycle. Apply operational and technical experience to enable SBIR technology’s research and development within a range of naval capabilities, operations and missions. Ensure the technical requirements for the experiment are identified and establish a collaborative working relationship with the government sponsors to design, plan, execute and control, perform data collection and analysis and prepare reports detailing findings and recommendations. Coordinate and facilitate planning activities with Government stakeholders, SBIR firms, event staff and organizations responsible for experimentation planning and execution. Develop experimentation objectives aligned with technology capabilities, maturity and operational needs. Assist SBIR performers with selecting appropriate experimentation venues based on technology maturity, objectives and operational relevance. Develop experimentation planning products, including planning documents, schedules, data collection plans, experiment execution materials and post-event reports. Mentor and advise SBIR firms, TPOCs and Program Managers on experimentation processes, requirements and best practices throughout planning and execution. Research experimentation processes, doctrine and best practices to improve planning efficiency. Develop briefings, process guides, reference materials and training products supporting DON SEC initiatives. Bachelor’s Degree not required, but a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university highly desired. 8+ years of experience as a U.S. Navy or Marine Corps Officer or Senior Enlisted. Experience supporting numbered fleet, major staff or a Warfighting Development Center. Experience with naval concepts and/or strategic and tactical functions and naval operations at the operational and/or tactical level of war, gained through experience working with U.S. Navy or Marine Corps operational forces, Navy Tactical Training Group staff or Warfighting Development Centers and Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. Experience facilitating planning meetings, technical discussions, workshops or collaborative working groups, involving multiple government and industry stakeholders. Experience supporting some or all of the following: military experimentation, test and evaluation (T&E), Fleet exercises, operational assessments or technology demonstrations. Knowledge of naval tactical mission areas or operational planning, including fleet exercises. Knowledge of emerging naval operating concepts and capabilities. Ability to embark ships, submarines, aircraft and boats and participate in and support field operations. Ability to travel (approximately 25%). Salary Range: $110K-$135K Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V. An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check. AUSGAR’s salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location.
