Alpha House: 50% Discount for Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten Position Summary The FNP Program Coordinator is a Full-time faculty position with coordination role, providing administrative, academic, and clinical leadership for the Family Nurse Practitioner track within the School of Nursing. This position balances faculty role with administrative oversight, ensuring the program complies with national accreditation standards (e.g., CCNE) and state board regulations. The Coordinator is responsible for curriculum design, student recruitment and advising, faculty mentoring, and establishing robust clinical partnerships. The coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the FNP program. Key Competencies Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to guide diverse faculty teams and collaborate effectively across university departments. Organization: Strong project management skills to juggle accreditation deadlines, clinical rotations, and academic calendars. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for mentoring students, drafting policies, and representing the university externally. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of graduate nursing education and Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum requirements. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to interpret and apply university policies and regulatory requirements. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Proficiency in data management, report preparation, and quality improvement processes. Work Environment Primarily office-based within a School of Nursing with flexible remote working hours. Occasional evening or weekend hours for recruitment events, orientations, or accreditation activities. May require limited travel to clinical partner sites and professional meetings. Responsibilities 1. Academic Leadership & Curriculum Management Curriculum Oversight: Lead the development, implementation, systematic evaluation, and revision of the FNP curriculum to ensure alignment with national competencies (NONPF, AACN Essentials). Accreditation & Compliance: Maintain program compliance with regional and national accrediting bodies and State Board of Nursing requirements. Prepare self-study reports and coordinate site visits. Teaching: Maintain a reduced teaching load in graduate-level nursing courses (hybrid, or online). 2. Student & Faculty Administration Admissions & Recruitment: Oversee the review of applicant files, interview prospective students, and make admission recommendations. Student Advisement: Guide FNP students through their plan of study, monitor academic and clinical progress, and implement remediation plans when necessary. Faculty Mentorship: Recruit, onboard, and evaluate full-time and adjunct faculty teaching within the FNP track. 3. Clinical Coordination & Community Partnerships Placement Oversight: Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators to secure high-quality, diverse clinical sites (primary care, pediatrics, women's health) and preceptors. Site Evaluation: Ensure regular site visits and evaluations of student clinical performance and preceptor effectiveness. Community Engagement: Maintain professional relationships with healthcare networks, clinics, and professional nursing organizations to foster future clinical opportunities. Education & Experience Requirements Education: Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Ph.D. in Nursing required. Licensure & Certification: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of employment. National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC). Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical practice as an active, certified FNP. Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in an accredited graduate nursing program. Prior academic leadership or administrative experience (e.g., track lead, committee chair) is highly desirable.
