Role Description The Family Physician will provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting in-person and virtual consultations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, coordinating care with specialists, and maintaining accurate medical records. The physician will support preventative health initiatives, provide patient education, and participate in clinic-based quality improvement and community health activities. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Edmonton, AB, with primary responsibilities on-site at the clinic and some work-from-home flexibility for virtual care and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Family Medicine and Primary Care, providing comprehensive care across the lifespan.
- Clinical proficiency in general Medicine and Urgent Care, including management of common acute and chronic conditions.
- Experience or strong interest in Community Health, preventive care, and population health initiatives.
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta.
- Certification in Family Medicine (e.g., CCFP or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain such certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered, culturally sensitive approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to hybrid on-site/virtual care models.
- Current CPR/BLS certification and commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
