Job Purpose: The Family Preservation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and oversight of Family Preservation and Caregiver Support (Family Placement) team to ensure compliance and best practice in service delivery. The supervisor will provide support and guide the team to consistently assess and respond to the needs of families served in the Child & Family Well-being division at Wellpoint Care Network. The supervisor will work closely with leadership to track outcomes and timely documentation to demonstrate that service provision meets program and regulatory expectations and is consistent with the overarching child welfare goals of ensuring safety, stability, permanence and well-being. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in related degree required Minimum of five (5) years of child welfare experience required. Master’s in social work or its equivalent recommended. Three to Five years’ experience in child and family welfare Supervisory experience preferred Crisis intervention experience Demonstrated ability to achieve positive outcomes and work successfully with internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to child welfare Knowledge of community resources and how to utilize them Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; including strong public speaking and report writing skills Demonstrated ability to define problem areas, assemble facts and recommend solutions Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues, clients, supervisors, administrators, legal parties and others. Proficient in the usage of computer software; demonstrate an understanding of computer file systems and computer software packages, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams, ADP, etc. Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines; Self-motivated and able to work independently. Physical exam, drug screen, motor vehicle report, and background checks are required for this position. A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License or occupational driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance is required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct Service Monitoring Supports and facilitates team members’ development of comprehensive, strength-based support plans based on a thorough case assessment Monitors timely and thorough completion of required assessments and plans for all team members to support and guide case progress. Evaluates and monitors case notes for progress and quality case practice Monitors program and services to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, including monitoring program records and files. Maintain the Resource Guide for the Child and Family Well-being team. Possesses a deep understanding of the Triple P Parenting Program curriculum and can accurately coach staff on how to utilize the program most effectively with different clients. Monitors and reviews Pillar Needs Assessments’ completed by the clients of the program to identify patterns and additional community resources needed. Seeks out regulation methods to educate staff on Seeks out additional learning opportunities for their staff surrounding Trauma Informed Practice and regulation techniques that can be used in their work directly with clients. Actively work toward improving the overall performance of the program by identifying innovative, responsive solutions. Decision Making and Problem Solving Effectively responds to parent, provider and other stakeholder concerns Provides effective mediation, problem resolution, and crisis response to staff Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage crisis and difficult case situations Demonstrates the ability to coach staff through crisis situations, conflict resolution and mediation. Case decisions are timely and fiscally responsible. Identifies gaps in case practice and takes initiative to establish a solution Takes initiative, acts quickly and independently when the situation demands it, sees a need and takes appropriate action without being prompted or reminded; demonstrates ability to effectively deal with last minute requests. Presents and weighs alternatives prior to making decisions and seeks consultation when appropriate. Good memory and recall are necessary for the accurate and timely transfer of data/information. Possible exposure to blood, body fluids. Exposure to outside weather conditions. Regular travel in personal vehicles is required with the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday. Willingness to work beyond normal working hours: evenings, nights and weekends. Involved with students, personnel, family members, visitors, volunteers, interns, government agencies, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. Subject to dysregulated clients, students, family members, etc. Hybrid on-site/remote work is available with reliable broadband connection. Leadership Provides leadership and oversight, ensuring programmatic areas maintain clear workflows, consistent supervision, responsive service delivery and alignment with contractual and organizational expectations. Ensures all staff receive required training, elective training geared towards staff’s developmental needs, and timely, effective support Educates direct reports on all department and organization policies and procedures. Meets with assigned staff for consistent and effective individual supervision to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, review work processes and procedures, and ensure timeliness of all work performed by direct reports. Provides consistent management, support and guidance to team members to ensure that service provision meets program and regulatory expectations and is consistent with the overarching goals of ensuring safety, stability, permanence and well-being. Maintains tracking systems sufficient to accurately assess individual performance related to both quality and productivity. Represents team and/or department at meetings, events, and learning as needed. Ensures that services provided by staff consistently uphold the Agency’s strategic initiatives Provides direct intervention and support for case-related events and accompanies staff in the field for activities as needed. Convenes and participates in team meetings and staffings. Works with HR and leadership to recruit, interview, and retain staff members Effectively responds to staff personnel issues through direct action, reporting concerns to leadership, and participating in solution focused problem solving Professionalism & Stakeholder Relationships Demonstrate the ability to function independently and in a team, while being supportive of the program and Agency’s mission and goals.
