Position: Festival Content Coordinator

Organisation: Alliance Française French Film Festival (AF FFF)

Location: Sydney, NSW (CBD) with hybrid work arrangements available

Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed Term Contract

Contract Period: Between November 2026 and April 2027

Reports To: National Festival Manager


About the Alliance Française French Film Festival (AF FFF)

The Alliance Française French Film Festival is Australia’s premier celebration of French cinema and culture. Presented annually across major Australian cities it attracts more than 200,000 attendees.

As we prepare for our upcoming edition in March 2027, we are looking for a creative, meticulous, and digitally savvy Festival Content Coordinator to anchor our editorial, social media, and digital storytelling.


Position Summary

The Festival Content Coordinator is responsible for creating and delivering compelling content that promotes the Alliance Française French Film Festival across all digital channels.

The role's primary objective is to increase awareness, audience engagement and ticket sales by telling the Festival's story through social media, email marketing, website content, video, photography and competitions.

The successful candidate will help bring the Festival to life online while showcasing the films, special events, ambassadors, partners and local Festival activity across Australia.


Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy & Content Creation

• Develop and maintain the Festival's social media content calendar.

• Create engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.

• Produce written, visual and video content promoting:Festival dates and locations / Film selection / Festival ambassador / Ticket sales campaigns / Special events (Opening Nights, Closing Nights…) / Competitions and giveaways / Sponsors activations and partners

• Create reels, short videos, stories

• Work with Alliance Française teams nationwide to source, coordinate and share content showcasing Festival activity across host cities.

• Manage community engagement and respond to comments, messages and audience enquiries.

• Monitor channel performance and recommend improvements.


2. Email Marketing & Audience Engagement

• Plan and create engaging newsletter content throughout the Festival campaign.

• Write compelling email copy designed to maximise opens, clicks and ticket conversions.

• Coordinate content contributions from Alliance Française teams across the country, helping capture and share Festival activity from host cities.

• Build email journeys supporting: Festival launch / Film announcements / Special events / Competition entries / Ticket sales push

• Monitor performance metrics and continuously test and optimise content and subject lines.


3. Website Content Management

• Create and manage website content throughout the Festival campaign.

• Develop engaging content around: Approximately 40 Festival films / Special events / Sponsor features / Festival news and announcements

• Upload and update website assets as required.

• Collaborate with the external developer when required.


4. Festival Competition Management

• Develop innovative approaches to promote the Festival's annual competition.

• Create content highlighting prizes and partner offers.

• Design competition marketing campaigns across all digital channels.

• Increase competition participation and opt-in acquisition.

• Coordinate winner announcements and post-competition content.

• Measure campaign performance and conversion rates.


5. Creative Content Production

• Design and adapt digital assets.

• Produce social media graphics, EDM visuals assets and event invitations.

• Create simple video edits, title cards and animated content for digital channels.

• Adapt Festival artwork across multiple formats while ensuring brand consistency.


Skills & Experience

• 2+ years experience in content creation, digital marketing or social media.

• Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.

• Experience creating content for social media platforms.

• Video editing and content production skills.

• Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.

• Strong visual eye and understanding of brand communication.

• Experience with email marketing platforms.

• Experience with CMS platforms and website content management.

• Knowledge of Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics and email performance reporting.

• Excellent organisational and project management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
