POSITION OVERVIEW
The Festival Coordinator, Transportation is charged with coordinating operations and logistics for all things related to transportation for the Sundance Film Festival.
Working closely under the direction of the Festival Manager, Transportation, the Coordinator supports furthering Sundance Institute’s commitment to introducing the work of independent artists to new audiences by ensuring transportation logistics for the annual Festival are a success.
This temporary position works full-time (40 hours per week) from Wednesday, October 14, 2026 to Friday, February 19, 2027 and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. This position is based out of our Boulder, CO office in order to work onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout its employment.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…

Assisting in translating the approved transportation plan into a plan for implementation.

Coordinating with vendors to obtain necessary items outlined in the implementation plan.

Creating and/or updating tracking documents from the previous years with relevant information for the upcoming Festival.

Helping the manager set-up and tear-down barricades at various locations throughout Boulder.

Serving as a liaison for the department at onsite meetings with local vendors.

Assisting in setting and resetting venue footprint(s) daily/nightly during the Festival.

Tracking early morning ridership on the Longmont route to Boulder and evening ridership back to Longmont

Creating spreadsheets to capture and track data that can serve as a historical document for future use.

Collaborating on the transportation timeline and working to ensure all tasks are included.

Supporting the manager by staying on schedule and meeting deadlines.

Tracking all transportation expenses and communicating any unforeseen costs.

Collecting daily transportation bus data and incorporating it into a daily report.

Gathering pick-up and drop-off data and creating a document that can be built upon in future years.

Supporting the manager and team with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Complete a comprehensive written wrap report as directed.
You have the following direct or transferable qualifications and skills:
-
2 years experience in event transportation, production, operations, or related.

Ability to drive a 16’ to 24’ box truck (over 10,000 lbs) with lift gates, as needed.

Valid driver's license and successful completion of a MVR background check and a valid DOT physical card or the ability to obtain one.

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of people.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

Ability to move items up to 50-75 lbs.

Ability to drive in winter road conditions.

Knowledge of the Boulder, CO area is helpful.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications.

Knowledge of FileMaker Pro or other relational databases preferred.
