Job Description

We are looking for a Field Auditor 3 to perform financial and compliance audits, evaluate accounting controls, identify irregularities, and support improvements to accounting processes and procedures. This position will be Full-Time and Remote with travel expected 3 to 4 days per week to field sites within the employees region within Indiana.

What You'll Do

  • Audit financial records and accounts for accuracy, validity of documentation, and adequacy of financial controls
  • Review accounting records and transactions to ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Prepare accurate and concise audit reports for supervisory review
  • Assist in developing recommendations to improve accounting methods, financial controls, and operational procedures
  • Conduct routine inventory and financial audits
  • Support the development and implementation of new or revised accounting procedures
  • Assist in investigations involving alleged irregularities in financial records and accounts
  • Analyze accounting and financial management issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Experience performing financial, accounting, or compliance audits
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, practices, methods, and procedures
  • Ability to analyze financial records and identify discrepancies or irregularities
  • Experience preparing clear, concise, and factual audit reports
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and electronic data processing applications
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while applying established policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision

Preferred:

  • Experience with governmental accounting and auditing
  • Knowledge of governmental financial management practices
  • Experience evaluating internal financial controls
  • Experience conducting inventory audits
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance reviews and investigations
  • Experience recommending process improvements and implementing procedural changes

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

$37.95 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
