Please note that the position is 100% remote and we are open for candidates from around the world. About Severalnines
Severalnines helps organizations run business-critical databases on infrastructure they control. ClusterControl automates operations across heterogeneous database estates, while CCX enables enterprises and service providers to deliver private, sovereign and white-label database services.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a hands-on Field & Community Marketing Manager to build and run a connected program of conferences, local meetups, owned events, technical webinars and expert conversations.
Your job is to bring Severalnines closer to the practitioners, buyers and partners who need our products - and turn that access into lasting relationships, product adoption and qualified commercial conversations.
Field and community are a core part of our go-to-market direction, not a short-term experiment. You will turn that direction into a repeatable program: choosing the right opportunities, bringing the right audiences together, delivering credible experiences and making sure useful engagement continues after each event.
The program supports ClusterControl and CCX, our company flagship products, with the conversation adapted to each audience and account.
Your role & responsibilities
Build and run one connected program
Translate company, product and market priorities into a rolling 12-month calendar. Give every activity a clear audience, purpose, account or community focus, budget, delivery plan and next step. Balance major sponsorships with smaller ecosystem appearances, local collaborations and owned formats.
Build lasting community and ecosystem relationships
Develop a network of organizers, local hosts, technical experts, customers and partners. Create reasons for people to return, contribute, share their experience and introduce others. Assess existing community channels and focus on useful participation rather than launching new channels simply to grow membership.
Deliver events end to end
Own sponsorships, venues, vendors, budgets, timelines, travel and on-site or virtual production. Recruit and prepare speakers, shape practical agendas with technical experts, coordinate assets and rehearsals, and run post-event reviews. Build reusable playbooks so delivery becomes more consistent as the program grows.
Bring the right people into the room
Work with Sales and Marketing Operations to identify target accounts, partners and relevant roles, then coordinate invitations, promotion and meeting booking. Tailor the experience for practitioners, decision-makers, customers and providers rather than treating every registration as the same type of lead.
Connect engagement to the right next step
Work with Marketing Operations on registration, segmentation, nurture and CRM capture. Route participants toward technical education, product evaluation, architecture reviews, partner discovery, community participation or Sales as appropriate. Agree qualification and follow-up expectations with Sales, provide useful context and track acceptance, next actions and outcomes.
Extend the value beyond the event
Coordinate recordings, interviews, clips, technical takeaways and follow-up resources with Creative & Brand and our subject-matter experts. Use these assets to continue community conversations and support account follow-up. Bring recurring audience questions and feedback back to Marketing, Product and Sales.
Manage performance and investment
Track delivery, audience relevance, repeat participation, qualified conversations, product actions, opportunity contribution and follow-up coverage. Maintain accurate spend forecasts, distinguish sourced from influenced opportunities, and recommend where to invest more, change the approach or stop an activity.
The program you will run
Our Initial Working Plan Includes
Named-account follow-up and community engagement continue throughout the year.
Local hosts, partners and internal contributors will help extend the program across selected markets. You are not expected to launch everywhere or deliver every activity alone.
How you will work
You will report to the Marketing Director and work closely with Creative & Brand, Marketing Operations, Sales, Product, Engineering and Support.
You will manage approved field and community allocations and recommend changes, while the Marketing Director retains overall budget and strategic-priority decisions.
You own program delivery, relationships, audience experience and effective handoffs.
Sales owns accepted opportunities and closing. Technical experts own technical accuracy and product commitments.
This is a program ownership role with hands-on execution. It is not an SDR position, and you are not expected to personally create every technical presentation, design asset or recording.
What we’re looking for
You Will
Success means building stronger access to relevant accounts and ecosystems, increasing repeat participation and advocacy, delivering consistently within budget, and creating more meaningful product and commercial next steps from audience engagement.
You will review follow-up and opportunity contributions regularly with Sales and provide clear recommendations to the Marketing Director.
Attendance and registration counts matter as operating measures, but they are not the goal on their own. The goal is to build a field and community program that creates useful relationships, credible engagement and measurable business impact.

- Two anchor sponsored conferences and at least four lighter secondary or ecosystem appearances
- Six local meetups
- One owned half-day event
- Six technical webinars and release-led sessions as needed
- Six podcasts or expert conversations
Named-account follow-up and community engagement continue throughout the year.
Local hosts, partners and internal contributors will help extend the program across selected markets. You are not expected to launch everywhere or deliver every activity alone.

What we’re looking for
- Experience owning field, event, community or developer marketing programs in B2B software, cloud infrastructure, databases or a similarly technical business, with examples of meaningful audience and commercial outcomes.
- Hands-on experience delivering in-person and virtual events, including speaker preparation, vendor coordination, budgets, promotion, production and follow-up. You can manage several overlapping workstreams without losing the details.
- Strong relationship-building skills with communities, customers, partners and internal teams. You know how to create repeat participation and work with local organizers or contributors across markets.
- Technical curiosity and audience empathy. You can work with engineers, database specialists and platform teams to develop useful, credible sessions. You do not need to be a database expert, but you should be comfortable learning the subject and asking precise questions.
- Practical experience with CRM and marketing automation, webinar or event platforms, and reporting. You can connect participation to follow-up and account progression, understand the limits of attribution, and use evidence to make budget decisions.
- Clear written and spoken English, independent project ownership and the ability to coordinate across teams and time zones.
- Willingness to travel internationally as part of the role and occasionally deliver events outside standard local working hours.
You Will
- Turn the agreed direction and existing activity into a prioritized calendar.
- Establish repeatable event briefs, production workflows and post-event processes.
- Build a network of speakers, partners, community contacts and local hosts.
- Put audience capture, segmentation and Sales handoffs into operation with Marketing Operations.
- Take ownership of scheduled delivery and establish a practical performance baseline.

- 4 weeks paid vacation annually
- Additional birthday day off
- Paid public holidays in your country
- Monthly budget for sports activities
- You can work from anywhere
- Flexible working arrangements
- Offsite team meetings at least once a year (we’ve already visited places including Tokyo, Madrid, Belgrade, and Krakow)
