2. About the Opportunity:

The Field Property Claims Adjuster role is responsible for investigating property damage claims in the Chicagoland area by conducting both virtual and on-site assessments. This position contributes to the organization by ensuring fair settlements through accurate damage evaluation and effective negotiation, directly impacting claim outcomes and customer satisfaction.


3. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual and on-site investigations of policyholders'' properties to assess damage and determine liability
  • Use claims software and company equipment to write estimates in a paperless environment
  • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities
  • Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to appropriate agencies
  • Work independently while representing the organization professionally
  • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, contractors, law enforcement, and other relevant parties
  • Negotiate claim settlements using strong customer service skills
  • Promote and comply with safety and ergonomic standards
  • Participate in 1–3 catastrophe (CAT) deployments annually, involving travel away from home


4. Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience, preferably in retail
  • Preferred experience in construction or insurance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, smartphones, and applications
  • Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage
  • Outgoing personality for interacting with diverse stakeholders
  • Valid driver''s license and bondable; subject to motor vehicle record check
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in confined, damaged spaces
  • Capable of physical activities including bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, and walking


5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • Starting wage of $29.61 per hour or higher, depending on experience and transferable skills
  • Bonus opportunities based on company and individual performance
