Job Description Summary
Role Overview: The Offshore Wind Technician serves as a critical member of our field operations team, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of GE wind turbine generators. This role requires a highly skilled technician capable of troubleshooting complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems while working with site leadership to meet strict contractual and customer-driven operational objectives.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Execution: Partner with site leadership to execute daily contractual obligations and support all facets of site operations with minimal supervision.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, component replacement, and system repairs to resolve malfunctions.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues within mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, specifically for variable pitch and variable speed turbines.
- Electrical Analysis: Conduct diagnostic electrical analysis to optimize turbine performance.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all service activities using digital reporting procedures.
- Collaboration: Serve as a primary interface with the GE Remote Operations Center to coordinate troubleshooting and system updates.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Wind Technician.Minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.Proven experience using basic power hydraulic tools.Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity for field teams.
- Skills:Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, technical manuals, and industry regulations.Strong basic computer skills.Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
Eligibility & Physical Requirements
- Physical Ability: Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily and handle repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Safety Compliance: Must meet manufacturer-specified weight limits (not to exceed 300 lbs, including all required gear).
- Mobility: Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Work Environment: Ability and willingness to work in diverse industrial, manufacturing, and power facility environments.
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is $55.17 - $65.54.
