Finance & Accounting Manager Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Status: Full-Time Location: Hybrid at St. Louis Park, Minnesota Office Compensation: $75,000 - 85,000 annually Position Summary Fellowship Recovery is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee and strengthen the organization's financial operations as we continue to grow. This position will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting strategic decision-making, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing oversight of multiple funding sources, including Housing Support funding. The Finance & Accounting Manager will partner closely with the CEO, Human Resources, Operations, Billing, and our external CPA to develop sound financial processes, improve reporting, and ensure the organization's financial health. We're looking for more than someone who can generate financial reports — we're looking for someone who understands the story behind the numbers. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, asks "why," identifies trends and opportunities, and proactively develops solutions to help the organization make informed financial decisions. As a small, mission-driven organization, this role requires a hands-on finance professional who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, building processes, and partnering with leadership to support responsible growth and long-term financial sustainability. Essential Responsibilities Financial Management Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements Develop and monitor organizational budgets Prepare financial forecasts and cash flow projections Monitor organizational financial performance and provide recommendations Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee accounting processes Reconcile accounts and review financial transactions for accuracy Housing Support & Funding Oversight Track all Housing Support revenue and expenditures Monitor restricted funding and ensure proper allocation Develop financial tracking tools for program funding Assist leadership in financial reporting related to state funding and contracts Payroll & Compensation Support Partner with Human Resources regarding payroll budgeting and compensation planning Review payroll reports for financial accuracy Assist with executive compensation administration Monitor labor costs and staffing expenditures Compliance & Audit Coordinate annual financial audits Serve as liaison with external CPA and tax professionals Assist with tax filings and financial reporting requirements Develop and maintain internal financial controls Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable nonprofit/healthcare financial regulations Financial Operations Oversee banking relationships Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes Review vendor payments Improve financial policies and procedures Develop executive dashboards and financial reports for leadership Strategic Leadership Provide financial insight to leadership regarding organizational growth Assist with long-term financial planning Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies Participate in leadership meetings as needed Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls Experience preparing financial statements Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Must live in the Minnesota Twin Cities area in order to be in office at least 2-days a week. Preferred CPA, CMA, or MBA Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit organizations Experience with state-funded programs or grant accounting Experience working with payroll systems Experience with accounting software and financial reporting platforms Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical thinking Ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations Excellent project management skills High level of confidentiality and integrity Ability to manage multiple priorities independently Strong collaboration skills across departments Develop and optimize financial tools Continuous improvement mindset Why Join Fellowship Recovery?
