About Bedrock Data Data is moving faster than security can keep up, fragmented across clouds, SaaS apps, and AI systems, without the context teams need to protect it. Bedrock Data built the industry's first Metadata Lake to solve this: a living map of all your data that shows what it is, where it lives, who's using it, and how sensitive it is, without ever moving the data itself. This lets enterprises automate security and governance at scale, making data protection continuous and invisible instead of manual and disruptive. Global leaders in technology, finance, healthcare, and biotech trust Bedrock Data to make data security operational. With a $25M Series A led by Greylock, Bedrock is led by repeat founders and technologists who built industry-leading enterprise platforms at Sumo Logic, Rubrik, and Cohesity. About the role Bedrock is hiring a Finance and Operations Manager to help build the operational backbone of Finance as the company scales, reporting to the VP of Finance and Operations. This role will be the first Finance hire (besides VP) and will span the entire function from accounting and reconciliations to long-term financial planning to the systems that hold it all together. You will personally work across month-end close, FP&A, and financial systems, partnering closely with our Head of RevOps to keep finance and go-to-market data aligned and trustworthy. You'll build the models that inform how leadership thinks about the business, help manage cash and planning, and be a hands-on partner on the analytical work that shapes real decisions that will regularly reach the CEO and board. Initially, this role will lean on outsourced accounting support so you can focus on the analysis, systems, and operational judgment that only an in-house partner can provide. You'll also help shape how the finance function is structured and scaled, deciding what's worth building versus buying, and what modern, high-leverage tools and workflows let a small team punch above its weight. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys being hands-on, is comfortable with ambiguity, and wants real ownership across the full breadth of finance and operations rather than a narrow lane. You're excited to build processes where none exist yet, bring rigor to a fast-growing business, and grow your own scope as the company scales. What you'll do Accounting & Financial Operations Review and analyze general ledger activity across vendors and cost centers, partnering with our outsourced accounting provider as the internal point of contact and QA layer Perform reconciliations across finance systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies Support journal entry review and month-end close processes Assist with ARR recognition tracking and contract-to-revenue workflows FP&A & Long-Term Planning Own recurring FP&A deliverables: monthly variance analysis, budget-vs-actual reporting, and board deck preparation and maintenance Build and maintain long-term financial models (multi-year planning, scenario modeling, capital planning) to support strategic decision-making Support cash management: cash flow forecasting, runway analysis, and monitoring against covenants/facilities Contribute analytical rigor to ad hoc projects — competitive modeling, pricing analysis, compensation plan mechanics Business Operations & GTM Analytics Partner closely with the Head of RevOps on GTM systems, data integrity, and pipeline/bookings analytics Work across finance and GTM systems to ensure clean data flow and reporting alignment between revenue operations and finance Support bizops analytics — surfacing insights to the executive team Systems Serve as a power user and administrator across the finance and ops stack Identify opportunities to improve, automate, or consolidate systems and processes as the company scales Help evaluate and implement new tools as needs evolve Qualifications 5–8 years of experience spanning accounting, FP&A, or financial operations — ideally at a high-growth startup or in a role that required wearing multiple hats Advanced Excel/spreadsheet modeling skills; comfort building and maintaining financial models from scratch Systems fluency and genuine interest in tooling Strong technical accounting fundamentals Sharp analytical instincts with the judgment to know when to escalate versus resolve independently Excellent cross-functional collaboration Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building a process where none exists yet — this is a startup, not a mature finance org Bias toward ownership: you should want to run point on a function, not just execute tickets Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to accelerate analysis, modeling, and reporting Nice to Have Prior experience in a SaaS or B2B software company, particularly at Series A/B stage Exposure to usage-based or hybrid pricing models Partnered with GTM / RevOps prior
