Finance Assistant - Putney Are you looking for a role where accuracy really matters and where you can make a genuine difference to customers every day? Join our Cash in Crime team as a Finance Assistant and play an important role in the management of Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) monies and case files. This is a varied, customer-facing position where you'll be trusted to handle significant cash transactions, maintain accurate financial records and support law enforcement partners with their enquiries. You'll be part of a small, supportive team based in Putney, London, working in a hybrid way with an expectation of attending the office up to 2 times a week. There may be occasions where additional office attendance is required at short notice. You'll also work closely with colleagues across the wider Finance team based in Newport, providing remote support across a range of finance activities. The role offers excellent exposure to finance operations and is ideal if you're interested in building a career in finance or accountancy. What you'll be doing: Supporting and leading, where required, the counting, banking and reconciliation of Proceeds of Crime Act cash in line with financial controls and compliance requirements. Managing Proceeds of Crime Act case files, including account administration, payment calculations and payment preparation. Processing and monitoring client money transactions while maintaining accurate customer accounts and financial records. Administering cash count bookings, collections and deliveries carried out by approved contractors. Processing accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, credit notes and refund requests, and supporting debt management activities. Resolving customer queries and assisting police officers with enquiries relating to Proceeds of Crime Act case files. What you'll bring: Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills. Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling cash and maintaining financial records. The ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines. Experience of building positive working relationships with customers and stakeholders. A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Confidence communicating with colleagues, customers and external contacts. It would be great if you had: Experience working within a finance administration environment. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems, including Oracle. A genuine interest in developing a career in finance or accountancy.
