Position Overview
- Position Title: Finance Associate
- Department: Finance
- Reporting to: Finance Manager
- Location: Cebu, Philippines
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days WFH)
As a Finance Associate, you will be a key member of the Finance team, supporting accurate and timely financial operations across the Philippine and global business.
You will independently manage assigned finance processes including bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoicing, finance inbox management, supplier and employee transactions, and compliance activities. You will also support month-end, intercompany activities and selected global finance processes, working closely with the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Associate.
The role is suited to an organised and detail-oriented finance professional who can take ownership of recurring processes, work with limited supervision, communicate effectively with stakeholders across different locations, and identify opportunities to improve finance processes.
Required Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
- Around 1–3 years' relevant experience in accounting, finance operations or a similar role
- Practical experience with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing and month-end activities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Google Workspace, including Google Sheets, Google Docs and Google Drive, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work independently
- Strong written and spoken English and ability to collaborate with local and international stakeholders
- Willingness to learn new processes, systems and responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a global, distributed or multi-country organisation.
- Experience supporting finance processes across multiple entities or countries.
- Familiarity with Philippine statutory and government compliance processes.
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting systems.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, reconciliations or month-end close.
- Experience improving finance processes, systems or documentation.
What You'll Do
Finance Operations & Accounting
- Book and maintain financial transactions for assigned entities, including accruals, depreciation and other month-end entries.
- Review transactions and account balances to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with finance policies.
- Perform bank and other account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate finance data and supporting records across relevant systems and files.
- Process supplier and employee finance-related transactions, including payments and advances.
- Support month-end close by completing assigned reconciliations, entries, invoicing and supporting schedules on time.
- Prepare accurate finance information and supporting reports for review by senior Finance team members.
- Monitor deadlines and proactively communicate issues, risks or delays.
Global Finance, Invoicing & Finance Inbox Management
- Manage finance-related enquiries and requests received through the finance/account inbox across all entities, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate escalation.
- Prepare and process customer invoicing across entities, and support intercompany invoicing, reconciliations and related finance processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve billing, invoicing and account queries
- Support finance activities across global entities, working with colleagues in different locations and time zones.
- Work with global teams to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Provide finance support for international processes and other global requirements as assigned.
- Monitor outstanding finance requests and follow through to completion.
Philippine Finance & Compliance
- Prepare Philippine statutory and compliance requirements, including BIR returns and alphalistings for review and approval by the Finance Manager.
- Coordinate and maintain PEZA-related documentation and supporting requirements, ensuring records are complete, accurate and available for inspections, submissions and renewals.
- Process government remittances such as SSS, HDMF and PHIC, ensuring timely and accurate submission and payment.
- Support payroll-related finance activities, including preparation and checking of required inputs.
- Coordinate the processing and renewal of relevant LGU permits, licences and certifi cations, ensuring requirements are tracked and completed on time.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for Philippine fi nance and compliance processes.
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Take ownership of assigned finance processes and ensure they are completed accurately, consistently and on time.
- Identify process gaps, control risks and opportunities to improve fi nance processes, systems and documentation.
- Support implementation of agreed process and system improvements.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date process documentation for assigned areas.
Collaboration & Team Contribution
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager, Senior Finance Associate and wider global teams to deliver shared priorities.
- Support more experienced team members on complex finance tasks and reconciliations where required.
- Contribute to effective backup coverage across key finance processes.
- Maintain professional and responsive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
