Finance Associate - Cash Applications

We are looking for a Finance Associate – Cash Applications to support our client’s day-to-day incoming payment processing. In this entry-level role, you will review bank statements, record payments against the correct customer accounts, and coordinate follow-ups with colleagues and third-party collection teams. This opportunity is suited to someone who is organized, accurate, and comfortable working with numbers.

Responsibilities:

• Download and review bank statements to identify incoming customer payments.
• Post payments to the appropriate customer accounts in the financial system.
• Check payment details and investigate or flag unclear allocations.
• Maintain a Google Sheet to track outstanding items and follow-up actions.
• Provide contracts and details of outstanding balances to third-party collection teams.
• Coordinate payment-related follow-ups with internal colleagues and external collection partners.
• Keep payment records accurate and up to date.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with numbers and payment information.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to track outstanding tasks and follow-ups.
• Basic confidence working with spreadsheets, including reading information in Excel and updating Google Sheets.
• Ability to follow established processes and check that payments are recorded against the correct accounts.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with colleagues and external collection partners.
• Willingness to learn financial systems and day-to-day payment processes.
• Previous experience in accounts payable or another finance operations role is a plus; direct cash application experience is not required.
