Finance Consultant (Part-Time, Hybrid – Kenya)

Location: Hybrid (Remote with occasional in-person meetings in Kenya)

Contract: Temporary, Part-Time

Hours: 3 days a week

Salary: Kshs 70,000-100,000 per month

Khalsa Aid is seeking a Finance Consultant to provide part-time support to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is suited to a qualified finance professional with experience in audit, financial management, and overseeing finance operations within an organisation. This is an opportunity to contribute to a global humanitarian charity supporting international finance functions while working in a flexible hybrid arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the CFO in overseeing day-to-day financial operations and strategic finance activities.
• Lead and support audit processes, ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules and compliance with requirements.
• Oversee and review financial records, controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Provide guidance on financial management and improvements to finance processes and systems.
• Support the management and coordination of finance department activities and workflows.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and relevant financial regulations.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis for senior leadership.
• Contribute to strengthening financial governance and accountability across the organisation.

About You

• Qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a finance role.
• Strong experience in audit processes and financial controls.
• Experience managing or supporting a finance department or team.
• Good understanding of, or experience working within, the humanitarian or NGO sector.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
• Able to work independently in a hybrid/remote environment and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Must have the right to work in Kenya.
