Role Description The Head of International Trade Finance Consultant is a part-time, remote role responsible for leading and advising on trade finance structures for global clients. Day-to-day tasks include designing and reviewing trade finance solutions, assessing international transaction risks, and advising on instruments such as letters of credit and other trade-related financing tools. The consultant will analyze commodity market trends, collaborate with internal teams to integrate trade finance strategies into broader funding solutions, and provide guidance on regulatory and compliance considerations in cross-border trade. The role also involves preparing clear recommendations, presenting insights to stakeholders, and supporting business development efforts related to international trade finance opportunities.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Trade Finance and Finance, with the ability to structure and evaluate complex cross-border transactions.
• Expertise in International Trade, including regulations, documentation, risk mitigation, and global trade practices.
• Experience with Commodity Markets, including pricing dynamics, risk management, and market analysis.
• In-depth familiarity with Letters of Credit, including issuance, negotiation, confirmation, and related banking procedures.
• Proven experience in a senior trade finance or banking role, preferably with international exposure.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and risk assessment.
• Clear and professional communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial concepts to non-expert stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; relevant certifications in trade finance or treasury are an advantage.
• Comfort with technology-driven environments and willingness to work with AI-enabled tools and data platforms.
