The Finance Manager, Indonesia will lead the finance function in Indonesia and one additional SEA market, overseeing financial management, reporting, taxation, compliance, and financial controls. The role will provide strategic financial and tax insights to support business growth while ensuring compliance with local regulations, accounting standards, and regional/global policies.
The Finance Manager will also take a lead role in managing tax compliance and audits in Indonesia, working closely with senior leadership, regional finance teams, external auditors, tax advisors, government agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Lead overall financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes in line with local and corporate accounting policies.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Monitor working capital, costs, financial controls, and financial risks.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders.
Tax Compliance & Strategy
- Ensure full compliance with Indonesian tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Oversee preparation and filing of VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and other applicable tax returns.
- Lead and coordinate tax audits, assessments, and responses to tax authorities.
- Work with external tax advisors and government agencies when required.
- Provide tax planning and advisory support while maintaining compliance.
- Monitor changes in Indonesian tax laws and assess their impact on the business.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities and advise management on tax liabilities and business strategies.
- Coordinate with outsourced tax agencies on periodic tax reviews and tax preparation.
Business Partnering & Leadership
- Partner with senior management by providing financial and tax insights to support business decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while maintaining strong financial controls and accountability.
- Manage expectations across internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with regional finance teams on intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and global finance policies.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, Legal, and other teams to support business initiatives and ensure tax considerations are embedded into business decisions.
- Provide guidance to local and regional leadership on financial and tax risks and opportunities.
Finance Projects & Process Improvement
- Support the annual budgeting process and monthly, weekly, and daily cash flow forecasting.
- Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, procedures, and controls.
- Act as the local finance contact for APAC/Global requirements relating to tax, financial controls, Group Audit, and GAAP compliance.
- Support ad-hoc finance and tax projects assigned by senior leadership.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Strong finance and accounting background with extensive experience in financial management.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesia tax regulations, tax compliance, and tax processes.
- Proven experience managing tax audits, tax assessments, and tax disputes.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and Indonesian/local accounting standards.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and month-end closing.
- Strong knowledge of intercompany transactions and transfer pricing.
- Ability to identify financial and tax risks and provide practical recommendations to management.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Experience leading and mentoring finance teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively with regional/global finance teams and external advisors.
