About the Client
Our client is Africa's Digital Newsstand, offering digital access to newspapers and magazines and supporting publishers with innovative technology.

About the role
The Finance Officer owns the day-to-day finance operations of our client across its multi-market, multi-currency structure, keeping the books accurate, protecting the integrity of every money movement, and reconciling the Company's several distinct revenue streams.

What you will do

• Bookkeeping. Maintain the Company's books and ledgers in the accounting system across the
• operating currencies, with a clean audit trail.
• Money-movement control. Prepare and process payments strictly through the dual-control
• approval process.
• Revenue reconciliation. Reconcile each of the Company's distinct revenue streams separately
• and reconcile payment-gateway and mobile-money settlements against the ledger.
• Publisher payouts. Prepare and reconcile publisher and partner payouts accurately and on
• schedule.
• Contractor payments. Process monthly contractor fees accurately and on time.
• Management reporting. Prepare monthly management accounts, cash-flow reports, and
• variance analysis, and support budgeting.
  

What we are looking for

• Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience. 3 years in finance, accounting, or payment operations, with hands-on reconciliation across payment platforms.
• Tools and platforms. Odoo (or a comparable ERP or accounting system); reconciliation of payment gateways such as Flutterwave (the Company's primary rail), Paystack, and Stripe; advanced spreadsheets; Nigerian tax and remittance knowledge.
• Strengths. High numerical accuracy, personal integrity, attention to detail, dual-control discipline, and strict confidentiality.
• Language. English (fluent, written and spoken).
• Working style. Able to work with minimal supervision; dependable, deadline-driven, and control-minded.

• Odoo or a comparable ERP hands-on experience
• Reconciliation experience with Flutterwave, Paystack, or Stripe
• ICAN or ACCA (part or full)
• Multi-currency and fintech experience

• A monthly fee of NGN 300,000 on an independent-contractor basis.
