The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, this Financial Accountant position takes ownership of the end-to-end accounting function for the New Zealand business unit. This is not a stepping-stone role for an Assistant Accountant. Instead, it will suit a technically strong accountant who thrives in a high-volume environment, can work confidently with large datasets, and enjoys partnering with stakeholders to explain financial outcomes and drive informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end accounting and month-end close process for the New Zealand entity.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, management reports, and financial analysis.
Complete BAS/GST and other compliance obligations for New Zealand.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Present property budgets and financial insights to senior stakeholders and directors.
Analyse large volumes of financial data to identify trends, variances, and business risks.
Partner with operational leaders to provide meaningful commercial insights.
Support audit requirements, statutory reporting, and compliance activities.
Drive process improvements and enhance financial controls across the business.
Contribute to ad hoc projects and broader finance initiatives.
The Candidate
CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion.
Minimum 4+ years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
