Job Description
Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team in Dublin for an 11 month hybrid contract (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
This role will support time-bound accounting and reporting activities. The successful candidate will provide accounting support aligned to defined deliverables and timelines, while working with cross-functional stakeholders as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with financial reporting support, including variance analysis and flux explanations
- Maintain documentation to support accounting conclusions, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Support process improvement efforts (e.g., standardizing templates, enhancing close checklists, improving reconciliation quality)
- Partner with internal stakeholders to collect required inputs and resolve open items within agreed timelines
- Perform other accounting support tasks as assigned that are consistent with the temporary nature of the engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (e.g., corporate accounting, public accounting, or a combination)
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and standard close processes (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis)
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with large data sets
- Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate status clearly
