Financial Accountant/ Insurance Accountant

Munich (Hybrid) or Fully Remote within Germany

Salary - up to €100,000

We are partnering with a fast-growing, international insurance business looking for a hands-on Financial Accountant to take ownership of its German finance operations.

Working closely with an international Group Finance team, you’ll have significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape and scale the finance function as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, financial reporting and cash flow management under German GAAP (HGB).
• Manage insurance accounting, including bordereaux, premium reconciliations and insurer payments.
• Oversee treasury, cash flow forecasting and day-to-day finance operations.
• Coordinate local tax, payroll and statutory requirements with external advisors.
• Maintain financial controls, support audits and deliver management reporting and KPIs.
• Improve and scale finance processes to support business growth.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience within an MGA, insurer, broker, intermediary or similar insurance business.
• Strong knowledge of HGB and hands-on insurance accounting experience.
• Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
• A proactive, independent approach with strong ownership.
• Fluent German and English.
• Experience in a start-up, scale-up or international insurance environment is a plus.
