Financial Analyst — Contract, Remote
A boutique CFO advisory practice working with technology companies is looking for a financial analyst to support client engagements on a project basis.
The work
- Build and maintain 13-week direct cash flow forecasts and rolling operating plans
- Unit economics analysis: CAC, payback, cohort retention, contribution margin, gross margin bridges
- Define and report SaaS, marketplace and e-commerce metrics — getting to one set of numbers a management team can agree on
- Scenario and sensitivity modelling for pricing, hiring, fundraising and commercial deal structures
- Build board and investor reporting packs
- Ad hoc commercial analysis: contract economics, cost line reconstruction, margin diagnostics
Requirements
- 3+ years in FP&A, investment banking, transaction services, private equity, or a finance function at a scaling technology company
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets — building models from a blank sheet, not filling in templates
- Working knowledge of SaaS, marketplace or e-commerce business models and their economics
- Comfortable with incomplete and messy source data, and willing to say plainly what can and cannot be relied on
- Written English at a standard suitable for client-facing documents
- Able to work independently against a deadline with limited supervision
