The Financial Controller we are looking for will preferably be located in Ukraine and will be part of the Ukrainian Finance Team together with local Chief Bookkeepers, Bookkeepers, Accountants and Economists. You will be working together on a day-to-day basis with our Controller Ukraine located in the Netherlands and will be reporting to the CFO also based in Amsterdam.
Our entities have their own local finance experts. Together with the financial professionals on Holding level, they form the Finance Team of around 35 people lead by our CFO.
Responsibilities
With approximately 20,000 hectares of fertile farmland, Dutch owned company Bontrup is a pioneer in sustainable agriculture in northeastern Ukraine. For almost 20 years, we have worked closely with local partners, drawing on our agricultural heritage to accelerate innovation and digitalization. Each year, we produce approximately 100,000 tons of grains, oilseeds and feed crops for both domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities
- Preparation of the company’s annual budget, forecasts, and regular updates of financial plans
- Monitoring budget performance, analyzing variances between actual and planned results, and preparing explanations
- Preparation and review of monthly reports for the Holding Company
- Analysis of financial results, revenues, costs, cost of sales, profitability, and margins
- Preparation of financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support management decision-making
- Preparation of annual financial statements and information required for the audit process
- Control of the correct recording of financial transactions and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations
- Cooperation with external auditors, accountants, and consultants on financial and tax matters
- Oversight of VAT and other tax-related matters
- Participation in the improvement of management accounting, financial processes, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensuring transparency of financial information for management and other stakeholders
- Participation in business projects, including ERP system implementation and improvement, as well as automation of financial processes
- Performing other financial and analytical tasks as requested by management
- Can oversee and prioritize work of the local finance team
- Supports local financial team and follows up more complicated questions.
- Studied Accountancy or Business Economics
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience gained in business or in audit practice at an auditing firm.

- Willing to business travel
- Decisive personality who is not afraid to approach people and who can deal with resistance
- Good IT skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and experience with 1C / BAS; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is preferred.
