Our People are Bold, Authentic, Purposeful and Inspired Our People are not Perfect, Traditional, Complacent or Cautious About the Role As Financial Controller at Cover Genius, you will be working amongst a rapidly expanding global finance team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Finance Operations, you will have a global role in leading the month end close and other accounting workstreams. This role requires a knowledgeable and resourceful team player who will own key sections of the balance sheet and month end close functions. This role will have one direct report and would suit someone new to team management, or someone happy managing a small team. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle of Partner outgoings while ensuring data integrity, fostering strong external and internal relationships, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate is a driven and reliable person with a strong background in data reconciliation and payables, exceptional communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and wants to be part of a global insurtech company with the vision to protect all customers of the world’s largest digital companies. Key Responsibilities Global balance sheet ownership of the following areas: Intercompany, Opex accruals, Prepayments, Fixed assets, intangible assets including goodwill, Retained Earnings, Other small areas such as investments, short & long term deposits . Month end close ownership of the following areas: Consolidations, FX analysis, Flux analysis coordination, Reporting to treasury and FP&A teams and explanation of P&L and balance sheet movements. Other ad-hoc items as required. Skills & Experience What you will bring: Fully qualified Chartered Accountant. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior or lead role. Experience working with NetSuite. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Google sheets, Claude. Strong knowledge of general accounting practices (both IFRS and USGAAP a benefit), and financial controls. Proven track record of process improvement and improving days to close. Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to manage external and internal relationships effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Fluent in spoken and written English. What you will have: Ability to identify complex issues and escalate as needed. Expert multitasker and self-prioritizer. Strong ability to quickly identify both risks and opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on both process improvements and results.
