About the Department : Join our Financial Navigator team that is part of our Financial Clearance Department. As part of our dedicated team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the financial well-being of our patients and the operational success of our healthcare system, ensuring seamless coordination across clinics and hospital departments. Role Overview : As a Financial Navigator, you'll assist uninsured, under-insured, and insured patients/guarantors with their financial obligations for prior and current care. Working independently under minimal supervision, you'll ensure accurate financial information is obtained, resolve financial obligations, and connect patients with available resources. Your role is vital in bridging the gap between patients, healthcare providers, and financial assistance programs to ensure compassionate and effective care. What You Will Do : Assist patients and families in understanding and resolving financial obligations for prior and current care. Coordinate with insurance carriers to determine healthcare coverage and options. Advise patients on available financial assistance programs and assist with application completion. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to determine long-term care needs. Coordinate activities with clinics and hospital departments to ensure seamless financial processes. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information. Required: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting. Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately. Preferred: Associate Degree with coursework in mathematics, accounting, and computer science.
