Financial Operations Support - Cigna Healthcare

Job Description Summary

Delivers professional activities in the Financial Analysis job family with a focus on Financial Analysis. Responsible for analysis and interpretation of financial information. Identifies trends, variances, and key issues and provides recommendations for adjustments. Tracks, reports, and maintains financial data. May conduct audits to ensure financial controls are maintained. Maintains system applications for processing and reporting financial information. May administer risk management and loss prevention programs to maintain maximum protection of the organization's assets at the most economical rates. Applies standard techniques and procedures to routine instructions that require professional knowledge in specialist areas. Provides standard professional advice and creates initial reports/analyses for review. May provide guidance, coaching, and direction to more junior members of the team in Financial Analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Medical provider invoices: verify, code, and liaise with Finance on processing and payment accuracy.

• Annuity monthly report: extract, validate and deliver the report to the Actuarial team.

• Bordereau: review and reconcile bordereaux with insurer partners.

• Insurer consultation: resolve financial and administrative issues directly with different insurers.

• Accidents reconciliation: ensure line-of-business accuracy across accident-related accounts.

• Report: maintain oversight of outstanding receivables and payables.

• Legacy clean-up: resolve old, unreconciled amounts across all LPS accounts.

Governance & Contacts

• SPOC list: maintain the single-point-of-contact list across LPS and partner organizations.

• Audit support: provide financial controls documentation and evidence trail for audits.

• Fraud cases & meetings: support fraud cases follow-ups and cross-team alignment on fraud investigations.

Why This Role Is Needed

LPS's historically manual claims-payment process, combined with the absence of a centralized database, has created a steadily growing volume of reconciliation work. Today this sits with the SME as one part of a much broader remit — case guidance, process improvement, training, escalations, and audit/reporting — so financial reconciliation constantly competes for time against these core duties, increasing the risk of delays, errors, and unnoticed backlogs. This gap has already had real consequences: a multi-year backlog of unreconciled lines requiring a significant write-off for unrecoverable entries, with a substantial amount in claims still outstanding — the direct result of no one being fully dedicated to this work. A dedicated role closes this gap sustainably, reducing operational and audit risk and freeing the SME to focus on specialist responsibilities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Prior experience in financial operations, reconciliation, accounting, or insurance/claims financial administration.

• Working knowledge of insurer bordereau processes, regulatory reporting and accounts receivable/payable concepts.

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with financial data, spreadsheets, and reconciliation tools.

• Good stakeholder-management skills, with experience liaising directly with insurers and Finance/Actuarial teams.

• Ability to independently prioritize and manage a recurring reconciliation and reporting workload.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience within an international employee-benefits, life & protection, or insurance operations environment.

• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar case/claims management systems.

• Prior experience supporting audits or regulatory/compliance reviews.
