About Wathco

Wathco is a PE-backed commercial construction company headquartered in Braselton, GA. We specialize in restaurant chain renovations, tenant improvement build-outs, conversions, and facilities work across the continental U.S. We do renovation work only, with no ground-up or residential construction.

The Role
This is Wathco’s first dedicated FP&A position. You’ll build our reporting and forecasting capability from the ground up and own it. Today our information lives in disconnected sources. You’ll consolidate it into consistent, repeatable reporting, then use it to forecast revenue, margin, and EBITDA, down to the individual project manager and project location.

You’ll work directly with the CFO, the Controller, and operations leadership, and you’ll support reporting to our PE sponsor. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

What You’ll Do

Reporting and consolidation

  • Pull data from Procore, QuickBooks, and other sources into a single, reliable reporting framework
  • Replace manual, one-off reports with standardized monthly reporting and dashboards
  • Build historical reporting on revenue, gross margin, job profitability, backlog, and EBITDA
  • Create a consistent set of KPIs and definitions that leadership and our PE sponsor can rely on

Forecasting and planning

  • Develop and maintain a rolling forecast and annual budget covering revenue, margin, and EBITDA
  • Build forecasts at the project manager and project location level, using historical performance, backlog, and pipeline
  • Apply AI and analytical tools to improve forecast accuracy and speed
  • Produce variance analysis comparing actuals to budget and forecast, with clear commentary on drivers

Project and WIP analytics

  • Analyze WIP schedules, percent-complete revenue, over/under billings, and cost-to-complete forecasts
  • Identify margin fade and risk on active jobs and flag them early to the CFO and operations
  • Partner with the Controller to keep accounting data aligned with operational reporting

Business partnering

  • Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and, when needed, the board and PE sponsor
  • Support the CFO on investor deliverables, lender reporting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Help project managers and operations leaders understand and use the numbers

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of FP&A or financial analysis experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or another project-based business
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting, including WIP, job costing, and percent-complete revenue recognition
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Hands-on Power BI experience, including building data models and dashboards
  • Experience building reporting from disconnected data sources, not just maintaining existing reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial results to non-finance audiences

Preferred

  • Experience in a PE-backed company, including board or sponsor reporting
  • Familiarity with Procore and QuickBooks
  • Experience using AI tools to automate reporting or improve forecasting
  • Experience supporting an ERP or reporting system implementation

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience
  • Quarterly bonus potential tied to company gross profit margin and revenue goals
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and eight paid holidays
