POSITION SUMMARY:
The FIND Coach Supervisor provides supervision, training, consultation, and technical support to ensure the successful implementation of FIND. Filming Interactions to Nurture Development (FIND) (more information about the science of FIND in this link) is an evidence-based, strengths-centered coaching program that uses video to support caregivers’ developmentally supportive interactions with their children. The FIND Coach Supervisor supports FIND Coaches across the state in becoming certified in FIND and delivering the program to fathers in their homes in English and Spanish.
This is a 20-hour/week, non-exempt position with a flexible schedule. Availability during typical business hours, as well as some evening and weekends is required to meet program needs.
This program is funded until December 31, 2029.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Achieves and maintains FIND Trainer Certification.
- Provides leadership, training, supervision, and ongoing feedback to support FIND Coaches in achieving and maintaining FIND Coach Certification.
- Reviews recorded coaching sessions in Spanish and English to assess coaches’ fidelity to the FIND model and provides strengths-based written and verbal feedback.
- Oversees day-to-day programmatic requirements and supports FIND Coaches in maintaining appropriate safety procedures during office, community, and home visits.
- Ensures records and data are appropriately maintained and reported to support program compliance and quality.
- Supports the development and adaptation of FIND program materials and works collaboratively with the FIND Program Manager to support program quality, coach development, and continuous improvement.
- Participates in interviewing, training, and onboarding of FIND staff as needed.
- Participates in regular FIND team meetings and maintains positive, collaborative communication with the team.
- Supports recruitment and engagement of fathers interested in participating in FIND.
- Maintains confidentiality of confidential identifiable information (CII), including films of children and fathers, in accordance with IRB and agency standards.
- May provide direct FIND Coaching to participating fathers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of early childhood development, family development, father engagement, and/or adult learning principles.
- Experience providing direct services to children, fathers, and/or families from diverse populations.
- Knowledge of strengths-based coaching and reflective supervision practices.
- Excellent time management, organization, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to attend to a high level of detail and execute work accurately.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse staff, fathers, partners, and community members.
- Proficient in MS Office and other relevant technology and ability to learn and support others in using new technologies.
- Advocates for the values of a diverse population within Akin and the community.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- This position includes both remote/office-based work and community-based work.
- Work is primarily completed remotely off-site and occasionally in a professional office environment and in the community in fathers’ homes throughout King County, primarily in South King County.
- Visits to participants’ homes may involve exposure to a variety of household conditions, including pets, residual smoke or odors, spills, and other common household conditions. Smoking is not permitted during visits.
- The position requires the ability to travel to fathers’ homes during daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours based on fathers’ availability.
- The position may involve moderate noise, typical office lighting and temperatures, and moderate interruptions.
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
- Travel to other site locations may be required based on program needs.
HYBRID WORK ARRANGEMENTS:
Hybrid work is a benefit of Akin’s flexible workplace but cannot be offered for all positions. Some positions require daily presence in the office. Hybrid work arrangements may be adjusted or rescinded based upon business needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop, and kneel.
- Ability to sit on the floor, crouch, or kneel.
- Ability to sit in a car while traveling to fathers’ homes and other service locations.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
- BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience providing staff supervision and/or training to direct service staff in Early Childhood, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience providing direct services to children and families, including families experiencing poverty and/or inequities.
- Access to a reliable, insured vehicle for work-related travel.
- Proof of physical exam within past 12 months (updated every three years).
- One-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment, unless has written proof of a negative test within past 12 months. For those who have previously tested positive, documented proof of treatment from a doctor or a negative chest x-ray must be provided.
- Proof of MMR vaccine or positive MMR titer.
- A valid driver's license and a favorable driving record, with no more than three violations within the past three years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with the use of a video camera, tablet, and video editing software.
- Experience supporting father engagement.
- Experience providing strengths-based coaching, reflective supervision, or professional development to staff.
- Additional language fluencies: Amharic, Arabic, Dari, Hindi, Oromo, Pashto, Somali, Tigrinya, or Urdu is highly preferred.

The target starting pay for this position is $32.28 - $38.74 per hour, typically within the first half of this range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant’s pay history into account.
