Finished Artist

Colony Group is a leading strategic, creative agency with offices in Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Port Moresby, Suva and Sydney. We are growing and looking to hire a Finished Artist for our Brisbane office.

This role is perfect for a Finished Artist who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, takes pride in precision, and understands how to bring creative concepts to life across multiple formats with accuracy and efficiency. A Finished Artist with strong image retouching skills is preferred.

Working closely with the Studio Manager, Creative Directors, Art Directors, Designers and our Account Service, Production and Social teams, you’ll be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality artwork across print, OOH and digital channels — ensuring every asset is brand-compliant and ready for production.

The Ideal Finished Artist

• Will prepare final files for print, digital and OOH production.
• Will roll out campaign master assets across multiple sizes, formats and specifications.
• Set up print-ready files with correct colour profiles, bleed, trim and pre-press requirements as needed (experience with dielines and spot colours is ideal).
• Perform image retouching, such as colour correction and removing imperfections.
• Manage versioning and high-volume asset delivery with accuracy and speed.
• Maintain organised file structures and follow studio workflow processes.
• Typesetting and document layout (must have a thorough understanding of paragraph/character styles and master/parent pages — Data Merge experience will be highly regarded).
• Experience with form layout, including interactive fields, highly regarded.
• Canva templates and PowerPoint presentations occasionally required.
• Can work in our Brisbane office 3 days week, with the other 2 days WFH.

Skills & Experience

• Has at least 4 years’ experience in a finished art role at a leading advertising or design agency.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Strong understanding of print production, pre-press and file preparation.
• Experience with large-format, retail, OOH and digital display specifications.
• Keen eye for detail and strong quality control skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of brand guidelines and campaign rollouts.
• Typesetting and document layout skills.
• Generative AI experience would be beneficial (eg. Midjourney).
• Proficiency in After Effects, Canva and Figma is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
