ABOUT THE ROLE

The Fintech Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial analytics and reporting functions of the fintech partnerships business. This role is responsible for evaluating deal economics, monitoring client profitability, and supporting forecasting and reporting across the deposit, net interest income (NII), and fee revenue lines. The position works across multiple verticals, including gaming, acquiring, issuing, BaaS, and payments, and partners closely with Sales, Account Management, Finance, and senior leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Financial Modeling & Deal Support

  • Builds and maintains financial models for prospective fintech clients, including deposit balances, NII, and fee revenue projections, in partnership with Sales and Account Management during deal evaluation and pricing discussions.
  • Conducts scenario and sensitivity analysis to test assumptions related to client ramp, rate environment, and volume growth.
  • Evaluates new client onboarding economics against benchmarks from existing verticals (gaming, acquiring, issuing, BaaS, payments) to inform deal structuring and pricing decisions.

Post-Launch Performance & Profitability Analysis

  • Analyzes client-level profitability following launch, identifying and flagging margin compression, pricing issues, or unfavorable trends, including the impact of rate environment shifts on deposit economics.
  • Works with Account Management to translate profitability findings into recommendations for pricing adjustments or contract renegotiation.
  • Monitors key performance indicators across the client portfolio to identify outliers and emerging risks.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Supports monthly fintech performance reporting, including revenue reports, executive presentations, and board/Investment Committee (IC) materials.
  • Supports division budget tracking, variance analysis, and monthly/quarterly close activities.
  • Maintains rolling forecasts across NII and deposit workstreams, incorporating client ramp assumptions and changes in the rate environment.
  • Prepares accurate, well-organized materials appropriate for senior leadership and board-level review.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Acts as a financial analytics resource to Sales and Account Management throughout the client lifecycle, from deal evaluation through post-launch monitoring.
  • Communicates financial analysis and findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with Finance, Treasury, and Data teams to maintain consistency of assumptions and data across models and reports.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, banking, or a related analytical role.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including SUMIFS, pivot tables, financial modeling, and sensitivity/scenario analysis.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint for executive- and board-facing reporting.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comfort modeling deposit balances and interest income.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in high-stakes financial reporting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines independently.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the banking, payments, or fintech industry, including deposit and interest rate dynamics.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.
  • Prior exposure to Investment Committee or board reporting processes.
